I read somewhere that Icelanders read more than any other people in the world so one would expect many good authors. The problem, I suspect, is that not many people can read Icelandic outside of the island(s). Given the age of my children I have seen many episodes of Lazy Town, which I believe is Icelandic, but that is television so not one of the higher art forms!

73cm of snow overnight still made it 42km into work getting back could be a challenge though. Airport ,trains and roads still functioning. would love to have seen the SE of UK deal with something like this ,worst snowfall on west coast since the 60s appararently.
That is one heck of a lot of snow. Rain here and much warmer than yesterday. Interesting bit on the French TV last night about people living on the streets who are offered hot food and a dry bed for the night, yet turn the chance down. Seems as if they like their lifestyle.

AK - you've knocked me off the drinks list but I needed a couple of days off the Palomas !! I am off work for 3 weeks and probably won't be too active on this board as I tend to give up technology whilst I am on holiday, although will deffo have a quick peak at results and reports occasionally. You never know Al. When I lived in Egypt I got stung on the foot by a bee in the grounds of the British Consulate. I was taken into the Consuls private apartments and my foot was bathed by the Consul-General's daughter. I then got invited to dinner and for dessert got served bread and butter pudding, which the Consul-General, a Yorkshireman, had taught the Egyptian cook to make. It was very good.
