Bold statement. If I were Wood, I'd rather go Leicester than Millwall. More chance of promotion and more wonga for wages.
From reading the Leicester board, it seems they expect him to start alongside Nugent to have them two deadly strikers up front. Possibly week in, week out football. They'll also offer higher wages. High chance of promotion. Should he choose Huddersfield, they would probably extend Beckford's loan till the end of the Season and put Wood alongside him playing regular football week in, week out. Lower wages though. Low chance of promotion. If he chose you he could carry on as he is, regular football week in, week out. Lower wages though. Mediocre chance of promotion. If he chose us, he'd start alongside Aluko regular football week in, week out. Higher wages. Higher chance of promotion.
Huddersfield only want Wood if we dont let them keep Beckford Beckford has no future here so with him the ball is in their court I pretty sure if we want Wood then we could offer the best deal to him
Why would you? Do you think you are the only club with rich owners? Our Chariman has just given away $35M to US charities (again) so he's got a few bob too
He's a fool then The Venky's are worth 6x more than King Power. Allam 4x The Al Hawasi family 1000x Berylson 20x
When have I said that? It alright saying your owners have the money but its another thing them putting their money where their mouth is.
Its not just that though is it - when the FFP rules kick in, Leicester will be well and truely ****ed for spending out of their comfort zone
We will bend the rules like Man City have. They have paid themselves 300M to sponsor their own stadium
In August 2011, UEFA confirmed their intention to examine the deal to ensure it was not an attempt to unfairly circumvent the FFP regulations.[98] The head of UEFA’s Financial Control Panel, Jean-Luc Dehaene, said they would benchmark all future deals to make sure they represented fair value. He said, "If we see clubs that are looking for loopholes we will act. It is not enough to say 'we've got a sponsorship contract and that's OK' if the contract is out of line. You know where the problems are and you know you will have to confirm them. But on the other hand they are all members of the ECA (European Club Association) and if they don't follow the rules they won't have the support of the other clubs." Try again
Most of our high wage earners, bar Nugent and Konchesky I'd have thought, have gone. We haven't got Sven's mercenaries now and Beckford and Danns will be gone in January too !! Pearson really has cut our wage bill, we're going to be fine. Oh and Matt Mills went too !!
After posting a record loss of £15M last season, you'd need to get rid of a few more, not try and outbid a rival
We'll be fine, ta. Our loss last season has been eaten up by the owners. They'll continue to do that until promotion
At 15m a pop I think we'll be alright. Especially considering the owners are minted, let alone the rest of the consortium
