OK, let's not talk about disallowed goals because that isn't in his hands. He hasn't been giving a sustained run in the side because he hasn't done enough to deserve it. Either Rickie or Rodriguez.
Well he's not done enough (from the wing) to displace Rickie, no, but with Lallana being out we have a hole in the side. Rodriguez is the best option... but if we want to play the Mr. One Goal nickname, then would you rather play Mr. No Goal (Mayuka) or Mr. No Goal (Lee)?
I think Rodriguez plays better in a 4-4-2. Him and Charlie Austin up front would be awesome in any league.
If Lambert was injured I'd play Mr. One goal, but as Lallana is injued and he plays on the wing, I'd play Mayuka as he is direct, he has pace, he can cross the ball.
Thought JRod looked ok on Saturday...everyone is making the assumption that a player can't improve given more game time. Obviously you play the person in form given the choise, but I'm not writing Rodriguez off this early.
Berbatov is in his 30s, jay rod is 22. Berbatov is on a stupid wage, jay Rod is on about 20k. Berbatov has been playing top flight English football since 05/06, This is Jay Rod's first season in the Premier League. Give the guy a break.
Rodriguez' goal against Newcastle was pure class. And it should have counted. Please stop calling him him "One goal", it's not even accurate. I would play Ramirez on the left, Lambert in the hole, and JRod up top. They can all switch around as they see fit, they're all big boys now.
Let's keep it simple and stick with the three Rs, Ricky, Ramirez and Rodriguez. Punch on the right (he's our right hook), Jack Cork and Spiderman of course, and the back four, as others have said, speaks for itself. Whether you call that 4-3-3, 4-3-2-1 or anything else you can think of, the formation only really matters when we don't have the ball. So long as they all know their defensive responsibilities the shape can be fluid in possession. Kelvin in goal.
As if people are stealing my names for our players?. I've been calling him one-goal for ages. At least I have Booly Do Prado to keep me individual.
That's a good point Qwerty. If he plays like he did at Leeds that would work for me although my heart rate would suffer!
Stop calling him 'Mr. One Goal' as it really is cringy. If you were watching against Reading he did a lot of hard work up front. Eventually, that will get him goals. Nigel doesn't even bring Mayuka on as a sub, what makes you think he will start him?
I wish we were playing Sunderland this weekend as we are on a roll....Nigel will have to make sure everyone keeps focused.
