If Theo goes I want to see the money spent on a replacement, which I think could be Zaha and a striker, Huntelaar would probably be my first choice of the more likely candidates. There should be some money left over as well, so a DM/CM would be good. That would mean Wenger could keep his economic policies as well.
I'd rather Walcott stays and we buy Huntelaar (or Llorente) and don't worry about Zaha. Walcott is better than Zaha and we need to add another option up top so Huntelaar should be brought in regardless. I agree we should be looking to bring in a DM as well, as when Diaby is out we can lack a physical presence in midfield during some games. And of course Henry in on loan will be a good thing if it happens.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20705876 Another confirmation about something we already knew about. We need to get some serious business done in this upcoming transfer window.
It's getting a tad tiresome hearing about our finances and Wenger having a big bag o money to spend at the transfer window. Me thinks there is something stinky in the air, as Wenger has had a considerable amount to spend for quite some time but nothing much happens. I don't see anything different happening this Jan window unless our team suddenly falls of a cliff....
Llorente is the one player who could do the most to help our team. Strootman or M'Vila would give us more options in midfield, allowing us to play Wilshere in the AM role. Obviously keep Walcott and stop being pathetic with the contracts being offered (77k? wtf), offer him 90k and reassure him that his best chance of playing centrally whilst getting CL football is at Arsenal.
You miss the point. We should give players whatever number they ask for, because we can't afford to keep on losing our best players, so even if he asks for 200K/week we HAVE to give it to him.
As much as I want to see Theo succeed, I'll be first to admit he has never achieved the consistency that a Player treated with considerable privilege should've achieved. I believe Theo's insistence that he be deployed as a CF is a smokescreen. I believe he & his advisors have ( save a last minute offer from an unknown party) sounded out potential suitors & have only to decide his holiday destination come Seasons end.
The thought of seeing both Walcott and Persie lifting the premiership trophy at the end of the season is horrific
It wouldn't be ideal would it. But i can't see the point of Fergie getting Walcott. He isn't a winger and if rumours are correct, Fergie would need a replacement for the outgoing Nani. Also, he doesn't need a stiker as he has 4 already. Liverpool would be the most likely destination which i can see him being very successful for. Both Suarez and Walcott up front would make for an explosive partnership. Anyways, i think we should keep Walcott!
So apparently a prominent member of the other forum decides to misquote me to have a dig and make himself look smarter.
Sometimes i wonder where newspapers get their "transfer rumours" from. Do they employ the dead ghost of Paul the Octopus to get their information? I just read over the gossip column on the BBC website and i came across "Arsenal and Manchester City are preparing to test Athletic Bilbao's resolve to keep hold of striker Fernando Llorente, 27, in the January transfer window. ". It looks like everyone and their dog is linked to either us or Man City. Now i can understand to a certain degree that Arsenal would be linked, but Man City? Is Mancini planning on fielding an entire team of strikers one day?
http://news.arseblog.com/2012/12/exclusive-wilshere-and-ramsey-close-to-new-arsenal-deals/ Some good and confusing news.
I can understand getting Wilshere to sign a nice new contract but Ramsey? Unless of course his contract runs out this year, i'm not sure he's quite proved himself. I honestly thought he would, but he hasn't reached the required level to play for Arsenal. I think we should wait until the end of the season and re-assess him. Also, we have Frimpong and Coqs who also need to be given a go. We don't want to make the same mistake again and give out contracts to players that are not up to standard.
One of the most ridiculous pieces of transfer news I have heard recently http://goonertalk.com/2012/12/15/ex-arsenal-midfielder-asked-wenger-to-take-him-back/
