they did against chelsea but were totally outmuscled against west ham. might just have had an off night i suppose. i hate to think that granero might be off - we were all so enthused by his signing a few months back.

oof too many changes! Don't need all them, and please not Park. But agree Cesar must come back as soon as he is fit.

They looked fragile because they were the central pair in 4-4-2. They didn't have a player to cover their back and protect them. That's why we need Mbia

    @Queens
Mate I already think Faurlin as a deep lying playmaker and Granero as a "real" playmaker I didn't need stats to back me up but that's exactly what they're showing.

Diakite isn't too impressive (none of our players is TBH) and don't see why he couldn't be dropped.

Perhaps a bit surprisingly, wasn't thinking about you at the time of writing Swords.

However, might help if you read stuff before commenting? I'd only just used the player's name which is what I thought justified the abbreviation 'KD'...

'As for Dyer, if a picture ever told a story, KD's face driving out of the training ground after 'Arry's first session suggested he was well pissed off. Gave me the impression we wouldn't be seeing much more from him one way or another.' (!)

Give it another try I entered the site via link again and there were no problems. Even in the comment section bellow the writer of this article said it would be nice to see Mbia, Faurlin and Granero together

Ok Pirate, finally got in to it,

i think those stats tell us a lot of nothing to be honest ?
One is better than the other at going forward, defending or winning headers. They would have to be compared in the same number of games or when they played together to have any validity in my opinion.

Both great players in thier own right although i cannot say who is better at the present.
Lots of people calling for Ali's return but no info as to why he's not being played. ?

Not convinced we need to pick a midfield to suit the opposition though. Why dont we make other teams change to combat us? Our midfield is certainly capable enough ?

Fully agree mate. We shouldn't watch stats as our main source for rating players, what we see on the telly, live is really what matters, but I every once in a while I like to take a look at statistic just as a secondary info. But I compared them by times spent on the field and those stats are same as here. Granero is more attacking and Faurlin is more defensive. I say this just because half of board is saying they're similar but I doesn't think so.

The thing with our midfield is that we have leaky defense so Harry is trying to compensate that by playing fast and strong players in the midfield. That's why there's no place for Granero and Faurlin IMO

Good point mate, so do we go with the offensive or defensive option then?
In my mind we are so far behind that we really cant afford to play defensivly. We need to be attacking teams and scoring (whats that?) goals.
if the stats are to be believed then Granero is the man, I just think he's so F'd off with the whole thing that he is suffering. Dont think we should be relying on Ali to create/score goals.

Mba and Faurlin would be very good DM pair. Something like Khedira and Xabi Alonso. We would need Faurlin to help Granero in the attack as he has really good passing ability and Mbia could be anchor man. We can't play midfield trio of Diakite, Mbia and Derry no more. I hope Harry understands it. Diakite is good dribbler butt after his bursts of pace he ends up by the corner flag and do nothing. Maybe he could be our impact sub when Ale or Granero get tired. I also think it's good to have ball possesion because if you have the ball that means your opponents don't and they can't score goals. Also a win against Fulham would be a high morale booster and would make our players more confident and eager to win another game and get out of the mess
