Was the ref sporting a red shirt under his ref attire? blatantly gave everything against us. Oh well a win is a win even if we did look like a championship team tonight. dyer kept running into players, Itay and Moore were poor, teindalli looks liable to give the ball away a fair bit (like Ki). Not a good showing, Spurs will murder us if we play like that. Why can't we get going for 2 halves?
Boro played us well the first half. They came to play football and they did. Much better than QPR and those other plonkers at the bottom of our table.
This Ref needs a trip to specsavers! We should have had a penalty and a Corner, but strange old game, we didn't really break into a sweat, and Boro offered very little in my view. The more I see of Tiendalli, the more I like this boy!...............
Well, we sneaked it and that's about it for me. I thought Boro, without being the least condescending, gave as good as they got and we didn't score a goal of our own making - 5/10 in terms of performance for me. Apart from our defenders, does anybody else in the team know what a TACKLE is? Or at least how to win one. Whenever there was a 50/50 ball, Boro seemed to come away with it and I'm pulling my hair out with this tika-taka on the edge of our box when we are trying to clear the ball. Teams have sussed what we do, close us down quickly and often win it back just a few yards from goal. Madness! That's not football, it's footballing suicide. I have to be honest and say I'm pretty down after watching that. Yes, we got the result but the performance was pretty dire and underlined the glaring deficiencies we have as a team. I hope Laudrup has got a decent shopping list because we're in need of some strong additions. We've discussed them before. Tiendalli looked OK but made a few mistakes and he was knackered towards the end of the game. Understandable because he obviously lacks match sharpness but the ability is there and he seems to have the right attitude. PS: What an absolute clown that referee was. We were lucky to get nothing from him. Studio pundits were unanimous that it was a free kick/red card for the Moore incident, followed by a penalty for the foul on Ki.
Well that was a ****e performance from us, we had plenty of possession but never made it count until 10 minutes from the end, But hey we are in the semi final and that's what counts at the end of the day..MoM Tremmel...never put a foot wrong with safe hands and good vision.....
Looked to me as if we were containing Boro, with an eye on Saturday's game?? Can't see any of our players tired for Saturday, after tonights light workout! Ivor the sign of a good team, is when you win, playing poor! Chill Man............
MOM for me was Leon. Usual high standard, protected the centre halves and broke up a lot of their moves and got ours going.
