Really pleased with your news Leo. I hope that it keeps it in check for a very long time.

Very cold here today, overnight frost again. Many leaves have come off the trees overnight, but strangly enough we still have roses flowering in the garden.

Glad to hear that, Leo. My neice-in-law has just been put on a new tumour-reducing drug which seems to be having a positive effect. I hope Mrs L's treatment makes a difference too.

Love it - especially this quote "Garbett is perhaps surprisingly dismissive of his time there, saying: “I enjoyed the experience in New York but to be frank with you it wasn’t the highlight of my career. Winning the third division title with Watford beats it. That was the best team I ever played in because that was real."

Have often wondered what he ended up doing after football. He was a top bloke, a greatly under-rated player IMO - and the only player who could beat me at table football. :)

Thanks to everybody for their good wishes - I'm afraid I do not have Hornette's skill at replying to multiple quotes - usually when I try it I crash everything :)

We have traditions of good writers and storytellers. These are some of the most famous Snorri Sturluson, Arnaldur Indriðason, Halldór Kiljan Laxness, Magnús Magnússon, Yrsa Sigurðardóttir and Kristín Marja Baldursdóttir.

Have to admit that I enjoyed reading Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda but don't know the others. Wasn't Magnús Magnússon the Mastermind guy?
