If deliberately operating outside the rules of the Association (rules that everyone else adhered to) is not cheating, what is it? I never mentioned another 139.
Tiny Wharton was caught doing the dirty hand shake with John Greig in the 60's , cheating was only thing Rangers were good at .
It's also against the rules to have less than X amount of seats in your stadium. Would it be cheating to break this rule?
Yes. Although that is a little more complicated as it is a little more difficult to detail a correlation between fewer seats and enhanced sporting performance where the link is very clear and very obvious with regards to non payment of tax.
honestly im not sure rangers cheated - if they did then dundee cheated, motherwell cheated, hearts cheat all the time etc etc what they did was liquidate - and as there is no requirement to allow a new club (yay i said it) ino the spl the other clubs simply didnt breaking rules isnt necessarily cheating - cheating would imply the breaking of rules to give a sporting advantage that said - all huns are ****s
Failure to achieve a standard of compliance is a different argument to failure to adhere to the rules.
Well, it isn't fair. Gretna got round that rule by playing in Motherwell - meanwhile, teams that paid to upgrade their stadia obviously didn't invest as much in players. I only really know this cos I've heard many a St Mirren fan mump their heid aff about it (and they have a point).
And that is absolutely right. Our Hurling club won the intermediate county championship in 2011 after getting humped in the semi finals.....The other team fielded senior players so were turfed out. Our camogie team fielded an ineligible player and were turfed out at the same stage. Thems the rules.
Trevor, easy on now your arguments today indicate you are truly trevorspastic. Harry Hoods was not saying his point alone proved that Rangers were cheats, what Harry was given was an indication of the type of thing that a member of the Rangers was up to with a referee. Now if you think its an example of cheating we won't argue with you because you always want to be right. I am sure if you want Harry and many others can give you examples of Rangers involvement in situations, many would consider to be highly questionable. Whatever you think you would have to admit Rangers died and were liquidated, to the disadvantage of many poor and some not so poor people. Rangers are now run by someone that, three months ago not many Rangers fans wanted.
I fail to see what advantage we gained or tried to gain through non payment of tax. But John Grieg did give a ref a Masonic handshake in the 60s so that's us ****ed.
Your club would have been in administration the season before if Whyte had not used the NI and PAYE Contributions to run the club for a year, not forgetting the money he scammed from Ticketus. How much is that in total he never paid? Only about 30 odd Million. But no, Rangers never gained any advantage from not paying their debts as they were due.
I'm not clinging onto anything, i'm simply telling you how Rangers gained an advantage at the time, I personally don't give a monkey's as it's in the past, but you did gain an advantage by not paying your bills.
