West Ham are being linked with a move for Southampton's Rickie Lambert next summer as Andy Carroll is unlikely to remain at the club.Carroll is set for a return to Newcastle at a knockdown fee at the end of the season as West Ham are cooling on making his loan move a permanent deal as the Liverpool misfit is currently injured and has managed just one goal in 10 appearances.West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is now said to be looking elsewhere for a permanent addition to his strikeforce and Lambert at St Mary's is thought to be a possibility.Unbelievable! We already know that Nigel Adkins is a manager who casts his transfer shopping bag net far and wide and the sun are reporting that the Saints boss is poised to stretch it far out once again as he looks to make a for Colombian midfielder Carlos Sanchez. In the summer window Southampton made some of the most left field signings around with the likes of Gaston Ramirez, Emmanuel Mayuka and Maya Yoshida hardly your typical newly promoted club signings. So with this in mind its clear to see that the ex Scunthorpe boss is not afraid to pin his hopes on foreign imports. The highly rated Sanchez has also been linked to Spurs, however the Saints should be able to more than match them for financial clout whilst they can also offer more than a bench sitting role picking up splinters.Sanchez would add much needed steal into what is largely a paper weight midfield, whilst he would also provide much needed defensive cover to a backline that has been shipping goals like it has been going out of fashion since the season began. Of course the defense are in part at fault for the Saints conceding more than any other side however they get next to no support from either Morgan Schneirderlin or Steven Davies and this is where the powerful Sanchez could make improvements.Believable!

Apologies previous post should be in two parts.

Hate large block of texts, but as it was you I read it:biggrin: Carroll is vastly over rated, but not really his fault that Liverpool played silly money for him. Being a twat is his fault though. There is no way that Saints would part with Lambo...he is not just a striker...he is the heart of the team. He is worth far more to us than any money another team would pay...unless Liverpool have another rush of blood to the head!

Rickie won't go to West Ham, unless perhaps we go down. Sam's hard-on for him really winds me up.

Oh, and just to warn you, there will be a post from someone soon, saying:

Source?!

Probably followed by one saying:

This^

I've seen both Lamb's sources. The second one continues:

"Sanchez would add much needed steal into what is largely a paper weight midfield, whilst he would also provide much needed defensive cover to a backline that has been shipping goals like it has been going out of fashion since the season began. Of course the defense are in part at fault for the Saints conceding more than any other side however they get next to no support from either Morgan Schneirderlin or Steven Davies and this is where the powerful Sanchez could make improvements.

Whether Sanchez is available this January remains to be seen given that his current club Rangers of Chile loaned him to European side Valenciennes straight after signing him in the summer, however if Adkins can get him then without question this should improve his worryingly powderpuff midfield."

Apart from the spelling of "steal" this is one of the worst bits of journalism I've seen for some time.

Do they do research...midfield is our strength and we have improved greatly in defence. Half our negative GD is due to one game. The really alarming thing though is that this could be another dual ownership thing....does Nicola really want to go down that path again?

That is a really rubbish piece of reporting isnt it !
Over the last 6 games we have scored 8 goals, conceded 4 and only lost once, narrowly at Anfield.

I would like to see that reporter call Jack Cork and Morgan Schneiderlin "powder puff" to their faces!

Yes. The part that made sense and the part that did not.

Our defencive problems have been caused by our wide players not supporting the full backs and nothing whatsoever to do woth Morgan who has been doing a tremendous job playing in front of them with Cork and thus protecting them. Our improvement defensively is down to the extra work Puncheon is now doing and having a more defensive full back in Shaw who does not push forward only to be exposed by Lallana's lack defensive responsibilty.

punch has been much better at doing this over the last few matches. him and clyne have got a good partnership going.

Having watched Sanchez a few times playing for Colombia, I would say he would be behind Davis in the pecking order. They like thier silly names for players here, and his The Rock which about sums him up. He is a no nonsense back to the 70s kind of player but without the flair of Morgan or Cork, his parent club would probably like to double thier money on him as they loaned him straight out which is strange as he mid 20s and has played for Colombia nearly 30 times. Now if we could upgrade him for James then yes please
