I haven't seen a match in the last few years when any player could be said to be 'not bothered'. Some games just don't go right...then you get a game where every pass finds a player, every tackle is clean and decisions go your way (okay not the last one)...when things go right, confidence soars...the opposite is true when things go wrong. All the players care.
Well that's your right. I have to say though that in my opinion he was one of the main reasons for the team not playing well in some games. He looked rusty and in contrast with the quick one-touch passing by the other attacking players, had a tendency to dwell on the ball for just a bit too long, ruining counter attacks and often losing the ball. He seems to have largely cut that out, though he still tends to hog the ball. It's more forgivable when you are making a positive contribution when you do of course!
As is often said - you wonder if you have watched the same game as others sometimes ! Never mind, it would be a dull world if we all saw things the same. For my money Puncheon has been one of our main counter-attacking players this season and as such its no wonder that he hogs the ball sometimes - somebody has to take opposition players on man-for-man occassionally and it is mainly Punch and Lallana that do so.
Sometimes he does hold the ball for one touch too long, but as he is our main goal scorer perhaps he's wise.
