Remember SAF complaining the other day about Man City gaining so many penalty decisions? Well HERE is a table and guess what!
I guess not because Holt is the taker and he has four goals all from open play. But I do think Man City get some soft ones.
Can you twitter the link to him The pen count is not even close, Utd with 25% more than City. What a fool he is appearing to be
are you kidding? he knew exactly what he was doing! typical mind games from fergie, trying to get under mancini's skin - and it seems to have worked. he often makes stuff up to suit his argument. even the journo's attending the presser where fergie stated the penalty 'facts' were pissing themselves - they all knew it was bollocks.
I take some comfort that both our sides don't try to 'buy' a penalty unlike Ashley Young at Utd, Suarez at Liverpool etc etc. Quite proud of that fact other than I'd like us to score a few more
Combine Norwich and QPR this season and last it's a total of 6 awarded - combine the two Manchesters, it's 28. That's some difference.
you have to expect the better teams to get more penalties as they spend more time in opponents penalty areas and have more skilful players with which to draw fouls, but we have had three or four very good shouts this season and lots last season where nothing was given. bizarrely, one of our two penalties last season was dodgy (vs blackburn)
I think it was Shankly that said, the reason Liverpool seemed to get more penalties than any other team, was because they had the ball in the opposition area more. With that, why the hell aren't Stoke top of the penalty table then with their style of play?
Because Stoke are tough and they don't complain! <-- Actually a quote from Pulis, which is kinda ironic because he is always complaining.
I think the only penalty Stoke should be getting is a points deduction for excruciatingly bad football
It's funny. There's a certain type of would-be macho man who thinks of himself of 'well hard' and yet spends most of his time whingeing about how badly the world treats him. In football, that's Stoke.
I think it's even more straightforward than that. The team that scores more goals will get more penalties there has to be a connection. It's probably why we havn't had one yet.
