yes mate, i don't really follow England as to me they are over rated so have no interest in them. i obviously know the obvious ones who are English, but wasn't sure if he was as he doesn't get in the team does he, if he is English. if Downing can get in does worry me why he cant and we are supposedly after him.
Apologies if already mentioned but the Guardian, Telegraph and Mirror are reporting that Ince and Sturridge are pretty much done deals -approx £18m. There are also rumours about Alexis Sanchez coming in on loan (Mirror).
He may not have played much first team football but he will have had reserve games and he's played for England (u21) too. Okay, not the ideal games to get an opinion but add to that how we have been and I can see why he is interested, I just don't agree
On paper, so three deals would make an awesome looking attack. -----------Lucas---------- ----Gerrard------Sahin----- -Suarez-----------Sanchez- ----------Sturridge--------- Maybe keep Suarez in the F9 role though.
Am I the only one thinking (maybe more hope than anything else..) that Sturridge, once given an arm around the shoulder by Brendan, being told how important he is to the future success of this club, will get his head down and play to the potential we all know he has? He’ll no doubt be given more game time here, the lads got pace, skill and can finish, I think a front 3 of Suarez, Sterling and Sturridge with Suso just behind them and the likes of Lucas, Gerrard in the Middle would be immense! Will mean we can still have the likes of Wisdom, Coates, Allen, Shelvey, Henderson, Bironi, on the bench, with the likes of Assaidi, Ince, Yesil and the other youngsters in reserve, squad doesn’t look all that bad to me if we get these two. I'm not expecting him to bang in 20 goals a season, but if he can chip in with 10 goals and the same amount of assists, I'll be more than happy! With regards to Sanchez, love for the loan to happen, can’t see it though..
I agree. I think he would definitely improve our squad/first team. Rodgers has a knack of getting the best out of wingers - Dyer, Sinclair, Routledge? (Not sure if Rodgers worked with Routledge).
I agree about Sturridge and have thought all of that to. But, I think he is capable of at least 15 goals.
I'm gutted we're about to blow £18mill on Sturridge and Ince. When will our madness in the transfer market ever end? As for the suggestion that blowing £11 mill on Borini makes the Sturridge deal ok...I'd say it just means we're throwing good money after bad. That'll be £23 mill on one guy who can't score and one guy who can't be arsed As for the Ince deal...well that speaks for itself doesn't it.
