Under the current board and commercial policy, I cannot see another manager doing what Wenger has been able to do. Having said that I am baffled by his team selections, his favouring certain players game after game when they clearly are not cutting it. What chance has anotherv manager with this squad? If a new man comes in and gets to spend big monye, why not let Wenger spend it? That's assuming that the stories we hear about Wenger refusing to pay over the odds are not entirely true. Let's see what happens in January. If we can have a strong run in the new year that will give us something to build on next season, I'd prefer to have Wenger stay on. If however we bump along as we have been and finsih the season limping over the line like the last 2 years I think everyone at the club should think hard about the whole situation.
What the hell has happened to Santi's ability to score from free-kicks? It seemed like he was banging them in for fun at Malaga last season. Comes here and keeps hitting the wall. ****ing typical and can't even score from 12 yards.
Sorry but this is further evidence pointing towards Wenger being well past his best before date. Wheeling out your first 11 and still get beat against a 2nd div side, is disgraceful. You can all debate about us buying big, but deep down inside you all know that hes past it. The guy just doesn't know how to rally his troops anymore. Fatigue I'm hearing? What, have they all come back from FECKING CLIMBING MOUNT EVEREST. Fecking hell, these guys get paid so much and can't play a few days after, against low level opposition. They all need a fecking kick up the backside.
After last weekend I've often wondered, after supporting Spurs for 60 years, why I haven't shot myself......then along come Arsenal to remind me......you need the gun more than me. Merry Christmas!!!!!
I've just gotten home from the game (past 4 am). That was a very painful defeat, it hurt real bad, losing on penalties. But we only have ourselves to blame, Bradford were there for the taking at extra time, they had no legs, were nervous, and were there to be put to the sword. But we didn't do it, we mucked about, rather than taking the chances, and when you leave it to penalties, anything can happen. Tonight also proved yet again, how the likes of Gervinho forehead, and Ramsey, don't deserve to wear the Arsenal jersey, how these 2 buffoons manage to play for Arsenal is beyond me. Thank God Gervinho goes to the African Cup of Nations next month, and with Rosicky back, I don't see any justification for starting Ramsey ever again unless the back up midfielders of Rosicky and Coqualan are unfit to fill in for one of the 3 established first team middle men (arteta, cazorla, and wilshere). We've most likely blown our best chance of winning a trophy, you've got to be seriously optimistic to think we can win the FA cup or Champions league when we can't even beat the likes of Bradford.
We're still in 3 competitions? Are you utterly deluded you think we have a chance of winning the league? LOL. Last week it was 4 competitions, out goes the league cup, soon it will be the fa cup, then the UCL, and then it will be the same old season of fighting for scraps. It's basically the same bull **** lines from fans like you season in season out, oh we're still in this and that competition bla bla, the only reprieve and excuses you can mention, until each competition is ticked off, and you're left with nothing.
Don't worry about them, most fans DON'T think or talk like them I was at the game, with the away fans, nobody was spouting the bull**** these guys are, they live in their own little deluded bubbles. One of them lives in America, so thinks this is some sort of disney movie, he's been heavily brainwashed by yankee hollywood which affects his brain when it comes to English and European football.
He was terrible when he came on. If anything, I would've kept coqualan on, and shipped Ramsey the **** out for Rosicky, who made a difference.
Nah, it's time for him to go, we are getting humiliated week after week, and season after season under Wenger, the vibe at this club is very negative, and has been for a long time, and it's because of him and the way he's done things, he needs to go once the season ends, we need a fresh new start, the Wenger era is over, tonight was just a further proof of how far Wenger has fallen, losing to a League 2 side, with useless **** wit players like Gervinho, Chamakh, Ramsey. And other players like Podolski who look like they don't give a ****, that's down to man management, Mournio, SAF and others, wouldn't accept constant anonymous performances from a player like Podolski, he needs to start getting stick too, honeymoon period is over, the ****er needs to start making himself noticed in games. Look at Giroud, he may not score, but at least he works his ass off for the team and doesn't go missing. All of this combined comes down to 1 man= WENGER. He needs to go at the end of the season, regardless if we get top 4 or not.
It may very well happen depending on the situation, if we're in a situation where we are struggling vs West Ham, which I think we probably will, and he puts in the same type of performance, he may get a lot of stick. I hope he does, I hope he gets an Eboue moment, because this ****, unlike Eboue, DESERVES IT because he's been so ****ing useless for most of his time at Arsenal, but over the past few months, he's decided to excel in being completely ****. So it'd be good if he knows what the fans think of him, why should we hold our tongues for so long? I think we've been patient enough with the ****er. Literally every away fan beside me, was calling him useless, along with Ramsey, these two ****ERS do not deserve to play for Arsenal, they are an abomination to this club, and the longer Wenger sticks with him, the more negativity he will create with fans. And to the people who always love blaming the board for everything, who's to blame for Ramsey and forehead? It's not the board that plays them, it's not the board who plays a USELESS **** like Ramsey over a maestro mozart genius named ROSICKY.
goonercym i think i saw your coach, does your coach come from wales? this was a white coach, from a company in wales written on it.
It's not as if this anything new though is it? I don't know why you're all so gloomy and surprised by this. The cup competitions REGULARLY produce minnows beating the big fish as has happened for goodness knows how long. Hereford once beat Newcastle and they weren't even a league side. These things happen in the cups all the time so don't feel so bad about it.
I like how people have been berating Arsenal87 for weeks while he's been pointing out the deficiencies of the Club. No-one bashed Toledo for his ridiculous optimism - Mr "I'm off to celebrate our 6 game unbeaten run." Though he doesn't always articulate himself well, he sees the problems & points them out before a lot of other people want to see them. Those saying Wenger should stay, why? He is clearly tactically inept. Not only does he buy poor players, he plays them out of position continually & has zero tactical variation. He's become ridiculous and ridiculed and should leave in summer. Spending money won't improve his tactical awareness, he will still be inept.
I whole-heartedly agree with the above comments concerning Ramsey and Gervinho, in anyone's book they were very poor. No other manager in the top 6 (maybe even top 10) would put up with such dross for so long. If we hadn't given them and the other useless articles at the club ludicrously high wages it would be easier to get shot of the wasters!!! Seriously, Gervinho wasn't just the worst player in our team, he was one of the worst players on the pitch!!! We need to make a bold, brave decision and sign some real quality to replace them and make it clear to the dross that they will not be in the squad any longer. If they had any self respect or dignity this would result in most of them handing in transfer requests which should be eagerly accepted. The whole atmosphere at the club needs a long overdue overhaul and in it's place we need an atmosphere of discipline, respect, pride and accountability.
It's like going back to when we were regularly the victims of giant killings but it doesn't make it any better. Some of you youngsters should have read our history before choosing to support Arsenal. It would have guaranteed you the roller coaster ride that is supporting Arsenal.
We're going to have to listen to pundits bringing up this game every time we draw a lower league team in the cups for the next 20 years now...
