Anyone remember him? I wonder what would have happened if he actually bought the club? I'm personally glad it never happened. It sounded like he was always struggling to build up the funds to make a good enough offer - requiring loans from banks and so on. If he had actually purchased the club, he wouldn't have had a penny to spend on players or anything else. Ashley is a tight bastard, but at least he gives us a few mill here and there, and he did inject a huge fortune to turn around the clubs finances and to try and save us from relegation. By what I read, I don't even think Moat could have spared a couple of mill. The only thing I'd have missed is that he's a life-long toon fan. It would be nice to have an owner who has the club in his heart. Then again though, that can sometimes shroud logical thinking. I remember reading that if he became owner, he would install Shearer as our permanent manager. Sure, he's our messiah, but I'm not too sure if he was ever any good as a manager.
Was always under the impression that he was just there to drum up interest in the club, was never really going to make an offer (i dunno if he knew Ashley or something, but club photographer was saying something along those lines lol)
