"Huddersfield boss Simon Grayson is ready to pay £1m for West Brom striker Chris Wood, 21, when he finishes his loan spell at Millwall." We can easily outbid that.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see two or three clubs bidding for Wood. Edit: It seems that Millwall have bid £1m and it hasn't yet been rejected and the Udders indeed are planning on offering the same. Come on Assem, £1.5m, there's a good chap.
It shouldn't be too much of a dilemma for Papa Allam for £1.5 million. Bruce can admit to Prosser not turning out as planned and say but Wood is proven, he'll make up for it.
Doesn't the player get a say? If Wood sees us as more likely to get promotion than the other bidders then maybe he can tell his parent club where he wants to go - or he'll stay at WBA?
Apparently, he likes London and Millwall are only five points behind us, it's not like it's Peterborough we'd be bidding against.
Yeah but over the duration of the Season, City have more of a chance at going up than Millwall. They've just had a decent run that's all. He must have at least half a brain surely.
Some persepective Mr. Wood, London is closer to Hull than I am to any city at all. Done. Now he will sign.
Well yea because I would get to ride in the middle of nowhere and you would have to go by a bunch of cities and towns. Mr. Wood doesnt need to know that though. It does seem a little silly this wanting to be close to london argument I hear all the time from players. I can understand it if you want to live in NY and a team wants to sign you who lives in Arizona, but really everywhere there is a realitively quick drive or train ride from everwhere else.
With £150m up for grabs i would not worry about that at all. I bet that all is ready to go once January arrives. Offer them £2m and chuck in Bo Myhill as well. GK situation sorted. Far Far too early to worry about Nick Proschwitz. Give him a chance ffs. It wont be an issue at all imo. London wont be ann issue at all compared to playing in the PL. Furthermore, he can now jump on a plane from here to the south. I would guess that the wages and league table will be what Chris Wood looks at most. Lets face it, WBA is not that nice anyway. What about taking a punt on Port Vale hot shot Tom Pope ? Looks like a Lambert-esk type of player. Maybe worth a punt at the right price and leave him out on loan for the season.
Can you clarify that? Is that a £600k loan fee for the rest of the season or a permanent signing fee in January?
Just heard a deal was close, a loan deal that is, and that 600k was the fee, i dont know if thats a loan with a payment of 600k for the remainder of the season which would seem a little steep, or a loan deal with the agreement we pay 600k now and the deal becomes perm when the loan expires. Apparntly we were in for Danny Graham but got knocked back.
Ah, sorry, wrong end of the stick. FC for £600k would be a decent bit of business. Though he still has to score at least ten before I forgive him for being a twat at the SoL.
All would be forgiven after a few goals If it goes through il be pretty suprised, id thought sunderland might want to try and create an auction in january, unless MON just wants rid asap who knows
With the form of Michu being red hot Graham cannot get a kick at the moment. But i expect Graham to play against M'Boro in the coc on wednesday. Understandable that Swansea want to keep him though but Graham would be a very cute signing thats for sure. FC is on the bench yet again tonight for Sunderland. Fletcher is fit and starts against Reading.
