Hopefully one of these take him on a permanent deal and Nigel can use the money that will be freed up to get in another striker http://t.co/1FI7lLZj
Whichever will buy him off us is fine by me, if Leeds want to buy him and Huddersfield just want a loan extension, then he can goto Leeds.
I can't see either of these buying Beckford. His wages are too high and they are not really in contension for promotion now. I believe we are still paying the bulk of his wages at the moment. I fear we are stuck with him until his contract expires unlless we pay him off.
We should hold out for at least 1.5M but anything over 1M I would sell at We just need him off the books
I genuinely reckon you could get 1m for him, I don't think Nigel would accept that though would he? You paid something like 3.5m for him didn't you? thats huge depreciation
We paid 2M With Beckford its not a case of making money. It saving money Hes a wrong un aswell and we just need him off the books
According to the BBC gossip column today, Huddersfield want to sign Chris Wood when his loan at Millwall finishes. Wood or Beckford? - no contest.
You've got him on about double the money he's worth and his contract runs to the end of the 2014 season. Personally, I think you'll be doing well to get rid of him on a free.
We will be able to rid of him - for all of Beckford's many faults, he wants to play football so will be more willing to move.
I'd take him, we need a pacey striker and he obviously already has a good reputation with the fans. Still have no idea where any of you are getting this "wrong 'un" stuff from, he's a fairly selfish player on the pitch but all reports I've ever heard are that he's anything but that off field. I think he'd take at least a minor pay cut to come back to Leeds and we can probably afford to pay higher wages with the take-over now providing his demands are reasonable.
I think assumptions are often made because he can come across a bit cocky. All reports I heard we're that he was well liked by the staff and got on well with everyone. I think his exclusion is almost soley for for financial reason (although he hasn't ever really performed how we'd hoped). He's on a completely unsustainable wage and I personally wouldn't care if he left on a free if it mean tgetting his wages off the books.
His negative attitude on the pitch. He doesnt chase bad balls, he just throws his hands in the air complaining. He doesnt run and doesnt play for the team. He doesnt listen to the manager and his effort just isnt there. Apart from goals he doesnt contribute to the team. The way Nugent and Waghorn are playing at the minute I would have them over a top form Beckford any day
We got rid of Matt Mills and got a decent price for him As you know, once you cross Nigel Pearson, there is no way back
It's certainly possible you'll get money for him, I just think it's unlikely. As you've suggested, I think Nigel would like him gone, whatever the terms.
If that truly were the case, I'd take him back at leeds instantly. Some players aren't right for certain clubs and it seems that way with Beckford and Leicester, for whatever reason it hasn't worked out. I genuinely don't believe he suits the style Nigel plays and that is a big reason for him not doing as well as he perhaps could
Its nothing to do with the team style pf play dont suit Beckford. We play wingers who create tons of chances and what sort of striker dont like that? Nigel dont like his negative attitude, poor performances, lack of effort and to top it off his wages are stupidly high
Proud I think you've got this one wrong. Whenever I've seen Beckford play for you it's clear you haven't been playing to his strengths; that's fine, you don't have to, but I'd say it's a big reason things aren't working out. Wing play doesn't suit Beckford, he thrives off of flick ons and balls played over the top or behind defenders.
