...includes three NCFC players this week. The best bit for me, though, are his barbed comments under the Robert Snodgrass picture - read it and be very grateful, Mr Pardew http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20658132
Yes anther very fair appraisal by Mr. Crooks. I know he has taken some stick on this board before but I have always thought that he is by far the best of the regular bunch and is even handed to Norwich. Earlier we have also had 3 players in one of his teams - something that Lawro (the t*at), Hansen and the others would generally not have acknowledged. Well done!
sorry, crooks is a total plank. he has little grasp of football - i don't watch it but the times i have seen 'final score', the other pundits on the sofa with him are often visibly disturbed by what he says. how he is still employed by the bbc is frankly a joke, and not a very funny one. just because he picks a few norwich players in his 'team of the week' doesn't suddenly make him a font of knowledge on the game. he is a totally useless pundit
Hang on Supers, I never said he was the font of all knowledge or anything of the sort. I simply said that he is the best (albeit of a bad bunch) but particularly that he is even handed to us which is not a lot to ask. I find the others have only a grudging acknowledement of our success. That was all I was saying and the number of players in the team of the week is simply a tangible expression of that even-handedness.
^ ^ That's how I understood your comments. I can't stand the guy, but all you can ask of a BBC employee is a fair crack of the whip - which we all know is never forthcoming from Lawrenson and occasionally (through gritted teeth) from Hansen and Shearer.
Lucky sod! My family insist on listening to it on the way home after games. Although they do consider Rob Butler and the callers to morons.
No further comment necessary. Yes, he is passionate about football, but if his team of the week selections actually played another team they would lose very heavily indeed!
I will retract my earlier comment, I meant to say Garth is indeed a fecking useless pundit. It's odd how words on the page sometimes end up being completely different form the thoughts in my head!!!
I still don't understand why Lee Dixon isn't there anymore, fair enough if he didn't want to carry on but he was the best of the BBC lot. I like Pat Nevin as well, MOTD has no where near the amount of analysis it should have, they spend most their time trying to make each other laugh. Jake Humphrey will probably get that gig soon anyway.
pat nevin is very good, but he tends to work for sportscene and also a few shifts on five live. clever guy nevin, always talks eloquently about the game and with critical views and understanding of the game, unlike lawrenson who makes me shudder on five live with his 'whimsical quips', as i'm sure he'd call them
isn't Jake Humphrey not doing F1 next season? i'd read that somewhere. guess he is on the fastrack BBC ladder so will be moving onto something else.
