WOW I did not see that one coming. The Iceman was actually a killer. Now I'm really confused. I look like such an idiot now...
I knew from day one Iceman was a killer and he didn't even have to tell me. I watch enough Sherlock and Poirot to see the signs. I have some other "guys" written down from day 1 as well and so far they're still (all) alive
Who's to say you're not also a killer? That might have been the plan so it looks like whoever survived is not guilty?
Not poor old RR! so what have you guys found out? The killer likes: - Sutil - hanging people - killing people who run the sweepstakes game as well as the champion
Well with the Mafia game wrapped up, what were people's thoughts on it? Apologies for not putting the effort into the threads so much the last couple of days, I've had a couple of personal problems which have meant I haven't really felt particularly inventive, so sorry about that. But on the plus side, I think everyone playing the game picked it up fairly quickly, and it moved at a faster rate than I expected, which I guess shows that it kept the forum active, which is a good thing. Anyone else got any feedback?
I enjoyed it despite my early death, it was fun to read and well run, lots of detail and so on. I think the main problem (in so far as there was one) was just a lack of interest and the game felt over a bit too quickly. Can't really be helped. Incidentally, why was I killed off first? Was one of the killers a ToonForum mafia game veteran?
You were killed off because I used a random word selector. Then Iceman said we should do Bando next! so both were done in the first 2 PM's
I suppose the difficulty is balancing length with the number of people involved. I'm all for having more people, which will increase length, but it means that people who go out early will have a fairly long wait to play again. Also, you end up with a lot of fans, and fewer players with active roles. Personally I like the simplicity of this game, but if people want to try Iceman's version, that might work and last longer. Whichever version we run, I'll probably duck out of the next iteration, but I'm fairly sure anyone can pick up the narrator's role, and I can give tips where necessary.
It might only need small changes to make it last longer, If the doctor couldn't save the same person twice in a row then the cop wouldn't be able to out himself safely. It was good but felt a bit easy in the end this time. I'd support having more roles, but i think we'd need a few players first or 1/3 of us would be Mafia to start and it would be over too quickly for the opposite reason.
Yes, this!! I didnt want to kill Forza for this exact reason. I just thought the medic would continuously save him.
Personally, I like the simplicity because it means there's more to think about. Like if you out yourself as the cop, like Forza did, then you have to do so pretty convincingly, which personally I thought he did, but still not enough to convince everyone, clearly as BLS never saved him. By declaring you're anything, you instantly put yourself in the spotlight, and Forza was accused a couple of times. To survive, he really needed to convince the doctor, and in this case he got lucky. In response to Fred, it's part of the game, but the doctor could have been killed at any point, so personally I'd have risked it. Equally, when it became obvious that Iceman was a dead man walking, supporting him didn't help your cause. You maybe could have turned on him too to deflect attention from you, although you still got unlucky with Forza investigating you.
