An awful first half performance, followed by an improved second half display...still not good enough though (especially from Pardew).

Our defending for set pieces is disgusting and has been all season, It's Pardew's job to organise the team to defend these. It cost us the game today.

We have again failed to win after conceding first under Pardew, this isn't down to bad luck, it's down to his inability to read a game and his ineffective subs. Why was Ben Arfa taken off? He wasn't injured and if he was tired he was doing a good job at hiding it. He was our biggest threat, if he had to come off why not bring on Marveaux? Our shape at the time was good, we had them pinned back, but no our manager decided to bring on Shola and disrupt our rhythm

Another point on today's subs, Tiote was having an absolute stinker, he even GAVE UP when tracking back on at least three occasions. So why did Pardew wait until the 85th minute to sub him for Bigi? At the latest that should have happened on the hour mark.

Why did Williamson play instead of Perch? Fulham aren't a long ball team, they play to Berbatov's feet and then play off of him. Perch would have been perfect along side Colo for this match.

All of the "Pardew In" people don't have their usual excuse of injuries today, they don't have the "other team were full of confidence" excuse (Fulham were bottom of the form table and hadn't scored for 5 hours), they no longer have it's "the only a blip" excuse either.

We're 3 games off of being halfway through the season people and we are in a relegation battle. We're halfway through the season and Pardew is yet to get our strike force working as a team. We're halfway through the season and Jonas is still the first name on the team sheet. We're halfway through the season and we're the only team yet to score from a set piece.

One good corner we had in today's game, but we still had 5/6 attempts at the **** free kick to Williamson. It's simply not good enough. Yes we probably deserved a draw, but we didn't get one due to more inept defending for a set play. We continued with the ridiculous high line of defence too. He's not fixing long standing problems.

If you disagree then fine, but calling me "fickle" weakens your argument. Offer me genuine reasons from THIS SEASON (yes this season, not last season) as to why Pardew should remain in his job. What are you seeing that I'm not?

    Disagree here.
    We played well tonight.
We arevinproving and January is ahead of us so I'm remaining positive.

Martinez, Poyet, Di Matteo, Jol (he'd come). All four play football on the ground, three of the four know how to organise a defence.

It's not a question of "who do we replace him with"? It's is a question of "why should we not replace him"?

Do you honestly think we played well first half mate?

Other teams will strengthen in January too, so it's not as if from January we're suddenly going to storm up the league just because of the window.

And get in who exactly? More managerial chopping and changing based on a knee jerk reaction, which will just land us back in exactly the same place again. I am fuming after the last few games, because we have been poor, and then have not had the luck, but I really do think we should ride this one out. We probably won't go down (though its not guarranteed) and I'm sure Pardew will get his **** together soon. We tried chopping and changing managers over the second half of the last decade. Guess what- IT DIDNT WORK! The only beneficiary was Fat Sam and his 'Casa St James'.
Maybe Pardew could have done some things differently tonight (I agree with the Shola point) but he didn't do a bad job, and like I said, we could have had a lot more luck this evening. We had a lot more shots on target, more possession tonight.
But hey, I hear JFK is available, maybe he'll come back no?

I'm sorry but how is half a season a "knee jerk" reaction?

Not first half but the tempo in the second was very high.
The green shoots of recovery are well and truly there.

I disagree bud, 2 clean sheets in 16 league games is not a sign of recovery, neither is no away win all season and only 1 league win in 10 with 5 defeats in the last 6 games.

We pinned Fulham back second half yeah, but that was probably because they hadn't won in ages and sat back to protect what they had.

Also only playing well second half is no good when we've never won a game when going behind under our current manager, we need to be playing well from the start based on that statistic.

Got to say it's luck that is going against us at the moment, better team at Stoke lost 2-1, same again today. Luck will change at some point.

Because it isn't half a season. We have been very poor for about 8 games, during which time we have had an appalling injury crisis. You say we had a full strength side tonight but this isn't true, we had Willo at cb ffs (and don't say Perch should have been there, he is no good at cb). Obviously we should have bought another cb in the summer, but thats not Pardew's fault. Also HBA was not match fit. We have had some decent results earlier on in the season and really should have beat the mackems earlier, which could have launched our season. Obviously we haven't hit the heights of last season, but neither have any of the managers since Sir Bobby, so clearly he can't be sacked for that reason.

You didn't answer any of the rest of my post... who should we get instead?

Only problem for me is the green shoots are about to be trodden on, Man City, Man Un, Arsenal & Everton appearing in the next 3 weeks. I predict a bottom 3 position come January. I'm not even sure we'll beat Harry's QPR despite the fact they've never won a game yet.

Everton finished 17th in 2004 under moyes. They didnt sack him and look where they are now. Add to this the fact that our manager is on an 8 year contract it would be maddness to sack him now especially after finishing 5th last season. Keep the Faith!!

So Ben Arfa wasn't match fit but was still one of our best players, he should have stayed on unless injured.

I've already posted four candidates, Martinez, Poyet, Jol & Di Matteo but that shouldn't matter regarding Pardew's position. He's not performing to the required standard, the have been long standing issues in his reign he's failed to deal with.

Equally Spurs sacked Ramos and Redknapp had them 4th the next season, completely irrelevant statistic...every situation is different.

I sometimes think finishing 5th is the worst thing we could have done its gone to most of our fans head I cant see us getting relegated and if we strengthen in Jan which is likely why sack a man who was LMA manager of the season he hasn't all of a sudden become a bad manager. I personally would give him the rest of the season and the season after it we continue to struggle then fair enough. The manager merry go round has to stop at some point and the only real alternative for me is Martinez and there is not much to say he would be an improvement on Pardew.

In Fairness its a Pardew Trend, Starting strong then finishing weak! I dont believe Pardew is as good a manager as Moyes, But I can see what your getting at, if by game 28 we are still in the same position, I'd look for a change!
