maybe Bruce might put a call in to his old gaffer and Webb's current boss to get things to swing our way?
Bit of step down for him isn't it? Going from International matches, World Cup finals, Premier League matches to the championship.
Hull City v Huddersfield Town (12:30) HOWARD WEBB Stuart Burt and Sian Massey Fourth Official Steven Rushton Look who's running the line too...
It's a bit weird that they give their top refs championship games when there are PL games going on at the same time. I'm not complaining though, him and Clattenburg are a million miles better than the ones we usually get in the Championship. You need a strong ref in these home games you expect to win, because there's always the chance they might go down the anti-football route as so many away teams do at the KC, and if the ref is a pushover who lets them do what they want before issuing a predictable but pointless 93rd minute yellow for time-wasting it'd be a lot easier to do than with a strong ref who makes them get on with it.
Isn't that like saying Spain are a good team that win most of their matches. Or, the sky is blue? He did ref the World Cup final! He is a Yorkshire lad - was a cop in S Yorks Police until he found that being a basta*d in black took up too much time (so he became a ref - hahah). And, I have met him and tried on his world cup gold medal - same as the players get! The photo is terrible of me though, so I rarely get to boast.
Howard Webb is the referee and somehow, Manchester United still manage to get a penalty awarded to them by him...
I remember him letting de Jong get away without being sent off in the World Cup final. Sian Massey is a decent lino would be a shame if she got abuse off any ignorant tossers unless the East Stand are fans of hairy man and his braindead Scottish mate
Is Sian Massey being Lino? Brilliant. I don't even think the morons which are normally found in E1 would even say anything out of the ordinary to her. You might find that at Elland Road but...
Sian Massey, knowing our strikers, will have a lot of offside calls to make and will inevitably get some stick.
Upset a linesperson? How ungentlemanly! Of course it would be utterly sexist not to barrack her- why should she get preferential treatment? I'm sure she'd want to be judged in the same way as male linesperson would Only a clueless dimbo would want some kind of rah-rah exemption.
