<laugh> Jesus Christ, I don't think they should ever take the moral high ground now.

Utd fans still get cups of piss and **** thrown on them in the Anfield Rd end. Doesn't help that they have to sit under the second tier, so the home fans can just kick them over the edge and the stewards can't tell who did it.

I don't think you said coin throwing is acceptable

I was referring to this part of your post ...

"a city fan even tried to run onto the pitch, do you think he'd have done that for absolutely no reason?"

It seems to imply that ferdinand brought it on himself ... I used the frank lampard incident as a parallel

I know mate, turns out he didn't bring it on himself, I thought he'd wound up the Citeh fans by celebrating in front of them.

I think pies should be excluded tbf.

One of the funniest things I've ever seen at the match, was at a derby game around 1980 & Imre Varadi was clean through on goal & ballooned his shot into the old Park End at Goodison where the away fans used to stand. His miss was greated with howls of derision from the kopites behind the goal & then as he stood there contemplating his miss, he was hit full square in the grid with a steak & kidney. It was hilarious.

What a completely ridiculous post! So you're saying a bit of winding up is comparable to something with harmful intent which could have very easily blinded Ferdinand? It say again, that's completely ridiculous. Can you honestly say you don't think those City fans gave Ferdinand abuse throughout the game? I somehow doubt that, so Ferdinand's (and the other player's) reaction while not very sensible is certainly understandable and to those fans I'd say, if you can't take it, don't give it. It's not stupid that they'll receive lifetime bans, I think they would be completely justified. There is NO EXCUSE for that sort of behaviour at a football match, I don't care what winding up a player's done, there's a line and that's FAR beyond it.

It was only a coin. He'll live. Players get 'blinded' by coins the whole tine don't they. At least four or five times a season.

Let's ban coins from stadiums, or even better take coins out of currency completely.
