I ave supported ze football club of Arsenal for very of ze long time but they were a club of le football for very much time before i was given the birth by my mother
I too have supported ze football club le Arsenal for long time, but I not support them as long as my French comrade Monsieur Cym because I am not being as you say in Angleterre - as much an old Fogey as him
Sacre Bleu . . not worry my Mon Amie, like in a ze France, we say you mature like a good red vino oui ?
Hearts are my father's team also. I've been to see them about 30 or 40 times over the years, though I haven't been since a) I moved up here; b) George Burley was sacked (the Dunfermline game immediately after was my last) and Romanov turned the club into a national laughing stock. I'll return once Romanov leaves.
hh nice one Barton one was hilarious hhh but you win trophies before that, isn't? actually UTD FA cup final i never watched it as i was bloody 6 years old, as I told you i started supporting the club in 1978-1979 season , i didn't knew we win FA cup till years later .. i was 7 years old , living abroad with no INTERNET, just some magazines issues of "shoot" that dad used to bring with him every time he gone for a business trip in UK.. there was no mention of us winning that cup.. i only found out later one some years later ..remember i was 7 years old with poor English knowledge.. sure not enough to read ..so I relied on my dad to explain to me UTD's history
My closest prem ground is the spuds. You can smell them when the wind is in the wrong direction....or it could be the Edmonton incinerator? Between the ages of 1 and 15, I lived about 5 minutes walk from them too. This caused me more damage in my formative years than had I shared a bedsit with Jimmy Saville for the same period. My dad, who was a total ****, did one good thing in his life; He supported the Arsenal and encouraged me to follow suit.
My local club is Barnet. My next local club is Arsenal. (Used to go to school in Edmonton though which is close to the spudlings). I have been to Barnet very occasionally over the years, but prefer going to Arsenal.
My local club now would be Reading but i didn't move here until i was 18. Growing up it was Palace but i only ever went to Selhurst park once
I ended up in Barnet last week.I was on my way to Borehamwood but i took the wrong turning from the roundabout off the M25
I used to go to Selhurt park when Charlton were playing there. I grew up in South London and went to Arsenal home games and away games in London and 'oop north' when I could afford it and when there was room in my mates car. If Arsenal were away and I couldn't go, I'd go with my mates to either watch Charlton or West Ham
Altrincham FC is my mighty local club. Although I must admit I am an absolute glory hunter, having only started supporting them when we gave Merthyr Tydfil a 9-0 kicking on the way to not quite being promoted to Div 4. Tho' even without winning the division we had the longest unbeaten run that season, and some people think that's even better than a trophy
Mine is the mighty Crystal palace. Literally a 10 minute walk up Westwood hill and your pretty much there. Used to go watch them play in the 80s as a young boy. Dean Gordon ( former midfielder) was a close friend of the family and would sort my uncle out with tickets.
