tbh I've never really cared what footballers do in their spare time, there are worse people on the planet than those that have pumped their brother's wife.

They still haven't caught the coin thrower, but they charged the alleged racist.

Nine people have been charged after the match between Manchester City and Manchester United on Sunday.
United's Rio Ferdinand was injured when he was hit by an object thrown from someone in the crowd at the end of the derby game at the Etihad Stadium.
Police are still trying to identify the person responsible for the attack.
However, officers have charged nine people, including one with racially aggravated public order and two with breaching a football banning order.
Two men are accused of pitch encroachment, one with a public order offence and three with being drunk and disorderly.
All are due to appear before Manchester City Magistrates' Court on 4 January.
Four others were arrested, including a 50-year-old man who was held for ticket touting but was released without charge.
A 45-year-old man was summonsed for a racially aggravated public order offence.
An 18-year-old woman was cautioned for being drunk and disorderly and a 33-year-old man remains in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug.
Ferdinand received a cut above his left eye when the object hit him as he celebrated Robin van Persie's late strike.

That explains DL's, Yurilly's and Drogs interest in the matter.

Racist, common scummers have to stick together.

Cue DL trying to explain that all those folks with red hats on cheering wildly as Utd win the game are City fans...

<laugh> Well to be fair several of them probably had Utd kits until around 2008.

The funniest one was the City season ticket holder writing in the Mail, trying to blame Rooney for the coins by saying he celebrated the third goal by sliding on his knees towards the City fans. Then providing a picture. Of Rooney celebrating his opening goal by sliding on his knees at the other end of the field where there was no-one but City fans <laugh>

Do you really think the city fans weren't giving rio any stick? Everyone else does so I can't imagine they weren't.

Lampard was celebrating a victory ... he'd given it the big one in the previous match at stamford bridge where chelsea came back from 3-1 to draw 3-3...(I have no problem with players doing that personally) - so in the mind of that twat spurs fan lampard was a justifiable target.

I think players are over paid twats on the whole but they get stick the whole game from opposing fans and then when they come out on top the opposing fans feel justified in being violent or threatening.

I ain't singling any one set of fans out cos I think it happens at most grounds.

At White Hart Lane fans who score or who celebrate regularly have abuse shouted at them...for having the nerve to celebrate a goal...this happens at most grounds and it is old and young fans alike, male and female etc. that do it and it is in all honesty pathetic

A spurs fan ran on the pitch and tried to attack frank lampard a few years back....presumerably that was ok cos after all he wouldn't have done it for no reason...your dislike for all things ferdinand is clouding your judgement mate

And Drogba getting a coin thrown at him when celebrating after scoring against Burnley IIRC (I think he actually got in trouble for throwing it back)? Obviously fully deserved in DL's book for the temerity of the man in celebrating a goal away from home.

    Is knife throwing ok?

"In 1971, with United banned from playing their first two home matches in Manchester, after hooligans had thrown knives into the away section at a match at the end of the previous season, their opening "home" games would be played at Anfield and Stoke's Victoria Ground"
