To be fair, I can see why theirs was given...

But I have no idea why ours wasn't given.

Think we should take bets on when we actually will be given a penalty. My guess last day of the season for a blatant Suarez dive.

Referee sweepstakes. The first referee to award Liverpool a penalty has to share their match fee with all the others.

  5. Which penalty shout for us are you talking about...?

I think the defender gets the ball in both TBH. However, the WHU player that studded Sterling in the stomach should have seen red <ok>

He got **** all of the ball on the Shelvey one <ok> Should have been red for the Sterling one definitely....and 6 and a half minutes of injury time??? Played 12 men today, it was hard work at times.

That Stirling tackle is horrendous. Straight red.

    Platant penno too.

The referees in our games have been shocking this season. How the Sterling challenge wasn't a straight red, I will never know.

Shelvey - that was a definite penalty, the defender didn't get the ball.

West Hams penalty was a joke as well. Allen is turning sideways to block the ball - how the hell can he keep his hands by his sides when he's leaning? And the distance between the player and the ball was too short.

It's a strange one - seems like our misfortune to hit the woodwork from last year has turned into lack of penalties this year.

I think it's 3 or 4 stone wall penalties we should have had (where there has been definate contact on the player and none on the ball). The one in Arsenal game when Suarez was hauled down by Mertesacker, one v United when Suarez was clipped by Evans (I think?) one v Norwich when Suarez was pushed in the back then elbowed and again today on Shelvey.

We'll probably get a really dodgy one at some point and everyone will be on here claiming we are lucky etc.

Oh, and was a definate red on Sterling - how the ref only gave a yellow is beyond me and Noble even had the audacity to try and protest the foul <doh>

The FA have a retrospective punishment rule(when it suits them), they should look at the assault on Sterling and give a straight red.

Sterling has been targeted by opposing managers for rough treatment as shown over the last couple of months, but ffs today's 'tackle' was terrible.

  13. Only if the ref doesn't see it.

He got booked so nothing the FA can do. The only time they've ever stepped in after someone was booked on the Ben Thatcher elbow I believe.

I know that dev but even that can be overruled(if they choose to do it), if Sterling would have been seriously injured they'd have punished the Waste Ham player whether the ref saw it or not, but why wait until some poor bastard is a hospital job before they do it.

The fool is right by both decisions too.

He has a good old look at Shelvey getting hacked and makes a clear gesture it isn't a penalty <yikes>

I think he thinks the defender gets a touch because the ball does move away but he just doesnt. He doesn't give his linos a chance to give an opinion either as he gives such a clear indication.

Really poor, as they have been all season for most teams.

We have really been ****ed over by referees this season.

You have the Suarez penalty claim against Arsenal, the Suarez penalty claim against Sunderland which he got booked for, the Shelvey red card & Man Utd's penalty, Suarez being fouled against Norwich, Huth's stamp on Suarez at Anfield, the last minute goal at Everton which was wrongly disallowed, Dempsey's dive against us to win the free kick from which they scored, Enrique's disallowed goal against Swansea and numerous other decisions I've forgotten about.

It is ****e and if it does even itself out over the season then I am looking forward a second half of the season in which almost everything goes in our favour.

I agree. It's tough to not make us look bitter, but I think we generally have had a lot of **** decisions.

Especially that goal against Everton. The boost from winning thouse games is so important.

Exactly. Its not just the 2 points dropped. Its also the confidence boost of going to Everton & winning in the last min.
