I think Tremmel was definitely at fault for our second goal and, to a lesser extent, for our first. Another strange example of how the fortunes of Norwich and Swansea seem to be tied together at the moment - both have first-class goalkeepers injured.

To answer your question directly, from what I saw today, I'd rather have Bunn.

I'm pretty certain the goal was disallowed because Bunn had both hands on the ball and had it knocked out by Michu, rather than anything to do with the elbow. But whatever way you look at it, it was the correct decision.

I've looked at the replay of the second Swansea goal several times and I really can't see how Bunn can be faulted. There is no way he could have safely come and claimed the cross because Russ Martin (?) and the attacking player were baulking him; he started to come, then correctly assessed it and stopped. Furthermore, he could see that Russ had a good chance of winning the ball in the dual with the striker. Unfortunately, Russ's header under pressure fell to de Guzman. Should Bunn have saved the shot? It would have needed unbelievably quick reactions to do so, because the ball was hit sharply and, most importantly, through the narrowest of spaces between the striker and Russ Martin on the six yard line. To reach the goal it had first to miss Bassong, and then pass between the striker and Martin. The chances of it doing that were small and IMO Bunn could not have expected it, and could not have seen it until too late. The only real chance of stopping the goal was if Bassong had been able to close de Guzman down quicker and stop him getting the shot away. <ok>

Let's not forget that we have Dave Watson (England goal keeping coach) on our staff and I'm sure they'll be working on when to come for crosses etc. I'm also pretty certain that Bunn himself will feel he 'could have done better!!! <ok>

He just needs to make a wonder save and he will be buzzing with confidence and will start making more commanding and decisive decisions. Anyone that saw Blackburn when Robinson was out last year will know what a top keeper he is. Not sure why they persisted with Robinson Bunn looked incredible at points.

I believe in him he has just had 4 games after not playing for 9 months with a defence thats changing alot. Not expecting him to be Ruddy but a decent prem keeper without doubt!

He's in a tough spot deputising for one of the most highly rated goalkeepers in the league and I think he's doing a good job.

No howlers yesterday, just a few slight misjudgments. I think he's quality.

Just my opinion, but Bunn should not have conceded Swansea's third - he came for it and got nowhere near it and left an open goal. And also I though Swansea's disallowed goal wasn't a foul - Bunn should have caught it but it slipped out his hands and broke loose.

I think it was a foul for the third. Michu went up arms flailing and landed right on top of Bunn who did make a hash of it tbf but thats not the point. Pointing to the previous incident with Holt is fruitless, thats not how it works.

Interesting discussion, but slightly unfair on Bunn at times, IMO. I seem to recall references to Ruddy and Dracula in the early days (he doesn't like crosses!). I also think that Bunn has already made a wonder save against Sunderland when he blocked the shot with one hand (it was first thought that it had hit the post -some hand!) in the bottom corner. OK, maybe City were fortunate that Kilgallon put the rebound over, but if Bunn hadn't made the block it would have been a certain goal and the match might have finished 2-2 or worse. I think any keeper has to 'play himself into the team' with a few matches and Bunn is getting close to that. I also think that comparisons with the back-up keepers for Southampton, Sunderland and Swansea put Bunn at the top of that particular heap. I also definitely think that Hansen was out of order excusing Michu's challenge on Bunn by comparing it with Holt's, whose arm was up but never interfering with the keeper ability to punch the ball. Michu clearly used his arm against Bunn and that's a foul. Bunn will be fine, IMO.

From what I saw he didn't look very assured yesterday and we have to remember that he cost a fair bit of money for a reserve GK. Would Rudd or Steer have played any better? If you think not then that is why CH spent the money - if you think yes then why did we buy him?

He made one noticeable error with a Swansea goal yesterday where he maybe should have gone gone for the ball with his arms outstretched but we now have a good 'keeper coach so I'm confident he will improve with the focus being more on him for the next couple of months.

I honestly cannot believe any body seriously thinks this???? He was clearly impeded, Michu's elbow/forearm caught him clean in the face, it couldn't have been a clearer foul if it tried. Same as Holty's challenge on heir keeper in the early chance for Snodgrass, absolutely 100% a foul, they both were.

I also cannot believe the micro-analysis of Bunn's performance yesterday on this thread either! Come on people, he didn't have a wonder game, but also he didn't have a shocker and nothing should make us doubt his credentials as being a top keeper who won't let us down in Ruddy's absence. And as for the nonsense speculation as to whether Ruddy would have saved the goals yesterday, I'm not sure he would have done any better than Bunn did, he is a great keeper for sure who we will miss but he's still human and isn't the perfect article so please let's not get carried away and be a bit more realistic please <ok>

Bunn to play again on Tuesday without doubt, he needs a run of games to get his confidence brimming so it would make no sense whatsoever to play Declan if you ask me <ok>

only just hit upon this thread but have to say, munky is completely correct on the above post. i'm staggered by some of the negative comments on here. the goal was correctly disallowed - just cos holt got away with one in the first half doesn't mean the 2nd one should stand, i don't care what alan hansen says! typical of him to try and be pro-swansea, even in defeat. as for bunn, he has been a very good signing - in the games i've seen he has made some fantastic saves. i think he was at fault for the third goal on saturday but it was a misjudgement, not a total howler. for £750k, you won't find many better keepers and with the unfortunate injury suffered to ruddy, he is an excellent keeper at a good age to call upon in his absence. i really don't know what people expect. lev yashin perhaps??? some people have to have something to moan about at all times, even when we are ten games unbeaten, in a cup 1/4 final and have beaten the runaway leaders convincingly. always got to be one player to pick on eh...

Whilst on the theme of keepers does anyone else think that if JR wasn't injured he would be starting for England against Brazil in February? Hart has been very unimpressive recently.

I would think he would be making a serious claim to that No1 slot. Hart didn't cover himself in glory against Sweden.
