Wouldn't ban it Col but I ask is it progress? Please please please sport results apart don't trust the TV for information . People get great comfort from TV but I challenge anyone on here to remember a great time in their life ... I don't if many would include TV

Tomorrow morning the whole nation will in turn replay what they saw on TV and reinact it . Strictly .

Did you see ... Wasn't it ? I couldn't believe it ! ... sound familiar ... My point is it sedates us all.

    Cash in the attic
    Fat Gypsy Wedding
Match if the day ... Linkers ears move when talks about us.

At least this channel is QPR And more creative too

Don't have Sky or Virgin because I would have an addictive personality and would end up watching Bulgarian 3rd division games at 4 in the morning.

But I do recommend negotiating/bargaining on everything whenever possible. We have British Gas cover for boiler/gas/plumbing - worth it because of the ancient infrastructure of our house, frequent call outs, not bad service. Last week they wrote saying monthly charge was going up from £31 to £37 a month. After initial fury at 20% hike I phoned up, had a bit of a haggle and to it down to £23.50. Which just shows what a rip off the standard prices are. I try this for major purchases in shops whenever I can find someone to talk to who looks like they may have some decision making power- not often nowadays. Doesn't always work but can be fun.

I used to be able to use a hooky Sky go account to watch the odd match but I think you have to register the device now.

I actually agree with you on this, Dave. TV is passive entertainment where the viewer is not required to think for him/herself, but fed a diet generally consisting of tripe, propaganda and bias. You can't watch a new drama without there being some sort of right-on, leftie, namby-pamby Utopian message delivered.

I love it when cold callers try it on, as long as I have time. It's a bit cruel because these people are in **** jobs and just trying to make a living. But often I can't resist. Like telling them that I'm a bit busy at the moment but will call them back later if they give me their home or mobile number. No joy with that one yet.

I'd sooner nail my cock to a wooden bench with a rusty nail than watch the Why? Factor, I'm A Non-entity Get Me A Contract or Strictly Cum Dribbling. But I hear they're very popular.

Perhaps the hand gestures are subliminally telling me to drive that nail through my old man?

An interesting counter action to this "propoganda" that modern day TV throw at us, is the invention of social media (twitter) and how its completely undoing everything TV has tried to "brainwash" us into thinking over the years.

Gone of the days where your only access to the news or peoples opinions were what the TV or the News which is carefully scripted pushed onto you......you can now quickly take to social media and find out the real thoughts of the people and the real stories.

TV makes you think issues like racism, homaphobia and xenaphobia are all an old past time......when a quick browse through the real thoughts/opinions of people on twitter, show you quite the opposite.

I have not seen Proper Pony ... is that the one where you need to identify one of the following as a ride on animal: Hamster, Shetland , Andy Carroll
