But also Gunner you used to score a lot right at the end to win games. I always thought watching Arsenal you would score eventually. I would love to have that feeling watching Spurs!

FFS, How many MORE ****ing times!!!..is this something in the Spurs DNA? For as long as I can remember, there's been this perception that if you get stuck into Spurs, they'll fold - not without justification. This didn't start with AVB, it's been going on for years!
Somehow, some way, from somewhere, this club needs to obtain a far larger pair of balls!

NSIS - so agree. It shouldn't even be a surprise anymore yet it's still just as gutting every time!

We played really poor so I'm ecstatic with the three points.

West Ham just did an us. Joke Hole and Shelvey.
They've still got time to either rescue it or collapse completely, though.

Sympathy with a sting in the tail ay gunner? I fail to see how the two matches are linked actually.

Yeah we do, but we keep swapping the defence about. There's just no stability. It's understandable to be honest. The amount of partnerships we have played is ridiculous, but we have no choice due to injuries and midweek euro games.

AVB doesn't have a lot of options on the bench. I don't think his subs are that negative (maybe at the start of the season when he was finding his feet), but I just don't rate certain replacements particularly highly, especially for AVB'S preferred formation.

Just gotta keep going and strengthen in jan.

I don't actually think the subs we negative today either, I just think overall Everton were better. They completely silenced Defoe, which just about no one has managed to do all season. They're a good side so we shouldn't be to disappointed to lose away from home.

It's just the manner in which we did AGAIN, which is soul destroying.

soul destroying.....perfectly described Roo....im sat here trying to convince myself of something positive.

not going to blame AVB...think his hands are tied with what he is picking from.

didnt both balls come from the left? Vert isnt comfy there...how we miss BAE.

long way to go i maybe need a good shake or just a punch but im getting over our lapses quick nowadays as i think in the grand scheme of things we will be just fine.

the game is about glory not 4th place finishes. so im glad we are playing strong teams in the Europa...give us a trophy Spurs..thats all i want and im happy.

Yup, Vertonghen needs to get back in the centre. He was knackered towards the end of the game, he was taking far too long to get back after making attacks on the left.

I'm also sick of seeing Gallas on the team sheet, although he wasn't at fault particularly today, he is a liability. COME BACK YOUNES.

I feel the same Dona. I would have brooded over this all evening in the past but I'm pretty much over it now.
We will be ok and I would swap any 4th place finish for FA cup or Europa league glory.
I can't wait to see a back 5 of Lloris, walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen and Benny. I have a feeling things will start to look a whole lot better then.

To compound my misery this evening, my fantasy team has done dreadfully this weekend. Depending on Berbatov to salvage some respectability tomorrow.

I'll say it again, I think we're doing really well with all things considered. New manager, tonnes of injuries all season and a new formation set up.

it's just the early stages of a new project and we'll get there.

before today, did anyone actually expect a win at goodison park? losing 2-1 isnt anything to be ashamed of.

until Lloris is permanently in goal and we keep a back 5 that isn't tinkered with too much, we're going to continue to leak goals. Stability is a huge element in defending well. Each defender gets 1 game with their respective back line, before it's changed again. They never get used to how one another play for a series of games. It also puts belief in the rest of the players and raises condifence.

we'll get there, but for me, Levy's gotta spend the cash and get some top quality players in, so all replacements can do a proper job. some of the subs we bring on are too weak, IMO.

Yes I want Kaboul back, we all do but Gallas had a fine game today IMO and there is no reason to knock him. Caulker was also very good indeed and Dembele on the ball is awesome IMO hardly ever loses it and makes things happen. There are positives to come from this game and when BAE Kaboul and Parker are available we will be very hard to beat.

This is about a lot more than having players out injured. Utd have had a makeshift defence for most of this season, still they are top of the league by 6 points. Sorry no, I don't accept that as an excuse. This is all about attitude, belief, will to win. We must vastly improve on those aspects of our game or we can never hope to challenge for any major honours. Put simply, when put under pressure, we fold like a pack of cards!..

This is why I go crazy when they keep putting League before Cup games.(Per Harry!)
I cannot ever see us winning a League championship again. We do not,and never will, have that consistency required or the men of steel who will die for their club.
Over the years we have become a very good Cup team.
The teams of 1950-1 ,"push and run",was something special and needed special players.
The 1960-1 "Double team was, again, something extra special and we may never see there likes again....ever!!!!
We also have had some "near misses" but always faltered at the end.Just like today!
