It will be good to see how Shelvey performs today. This could make our squad look much bigger.

West Ham 2-0 Liverpool. That is a realistic result for both teams

I don't think Shelvey is the right man to play the striker, hope I'm wrong.

    Here is the team news.

West Ham United team to face Liverpool.

Jaaskelainen; Demel, Reid, Collins, O'Brien; Taylor, Noble, Diame, Jarvis; Nolan; Cole.

SUBS: Spiegel, Spence, Tomkins, McCartney, Moncur, O'Neil, Maiga

    -

Mohamed Diame gets a start in the middle for West Ham after his impressive performance from the bench last weekend. Looks like either a 4-5-1 or a 4-4-1-1 with Nolan just in behind Cole. James Collins returns to the side after injury and starts alongside Winston Reid at centre-back.

Also looks like Joey O'Brien is at left-back. He is a right-back by trade.

Liverpool team to face West Ham United.

Reina; Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique; Lucas, Allen, Gerrard; Sterling, Shelvey, Downing.

SUBS: Jones, Carragher, Coates, Henderson, Cole, Suso, Morgan.

    -

That is the same team that was posted earlier on in this thread by DayDoDoeDontDayDoe. Not too sure who plays left-back & left-wing but i'll take a guess at Downing on the left of the attacking three and Enrique at left-back. Could be the other way round though! Adam Morgan also gets a place on the bench.

Bloody Sky! What's going on? There's some kind of crowd trouble and then Ferdinand is bleeding, commentators are being cryptic as to what is going on

Ferdinand is bleeding from hitting himself in the face after trying to celebrate.

Fans just being manc fans, fighting and arguing with eachother - nothing different to see there.

Said it was a coin thrown at him.

Either way, not sure how to feel about our game and if we can get the result. I am hoping so but can see a draw.

  12. But not full backs so I'd guess Carra is in to cover them too <ok>

As I said, I expect Downing to be left back. If he is front three though, that is a poor decision, many many better options than him. Left back as well, Wisdom should be at right and Johnson left.

  15. Yeah, TalkSport said it was a coin but they got the culprit too. However, they had to escort him through the Man Utd fans who tried to attack him <doh> (not moaning about the Man Utd fans here, anyone that throws coins deserve what they get)

Was anything done about the coin incidents last year and this year with Suarez at Everton? Sure it was brushed under the table but this one will be in the limelight.

Really need Liverpool to not **** my day up! <laugh>

We strangely seem to be the 'under-dogs' for this one, despite the improvement we've showed recently, ah well I always fancy us more when we're being written off. It's about time we showed some consistency, and it has to start sooner rather than later. We need to get our act together as their is still a lot to play for.
