The Marcus Trescothick book about his battle with depression is a great read- very real, very moving. "Coming Back to Me" And a left-field suggestion: Oliver Postgate's autobiography "Seeing Things". Yes, the bloke who did Ivor the Engine, the Clangers et al. He certainly lived a life, though I won't say any more about it, except that I thoroughly enjoyed it
Trautmann: The Biography by Alan Rowlands. A terrific read about life from the Hitler Youth, Luftwaffe, through to PoW in England and his career at Manchester City from 1948-1964 including the 1956 Cup-final where he played on despite breaking his neck in 3 places, and beyond. Brilliant read, inspirational figure. Depending on your musical taste / interest perhaps but David Lee Roth "Crazy From The Heat" is also a riveting read, very funny stuff from the Van Halen singer and keen mountaineer/explorer.
The Bogota Bandit: The Outlaw Life of Charlie Mitten - Penatly King Of Old Trafford by Richard Adamson If you find this book it is interesting.
