Demba turns down £70k per week

At the end of the day it's just opinions, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. As long as people just discuss things without fighting and arguing, everything is fine.

That's what the forum is all about, to talk about your team and discuss things among ourselves.

Lot's of people seem to see things through different eyes, but that's life.

 

Personally I do not think Ba is worth £70K a week - I think £50K is a fantastic offer and one he should accept. If he is not willing to accept this then au revoir. The money we get for him can go on a younger model who would be on less wages and one who could compliment Cisse. Not that I know who we should go for - but I do like the idea of a left forward similar to that of Hatem but someone who can cross as well.

 

truly hope so but the fact that he hasn't signed or at least amended his contract by now suggests a lot of the paper chatter may be true.

I know its just paper talk but with every passing article about this the more I want him to go! We are Newcastle United not Newcastle Ba I wonder if he would accept that if we put it in the contract "Clubs name gets edited to suit you whilst your here"

All the above are comments made on this thread.Personally, I would call them slagging Demba off either expressly or implicitly.

With regard to "discussing the article based on the fact it might be true." I don't agree. The comments have been made not asif the article was true but believing the article was true.

 

Those three posts in bold were all made by posters who have also used the word "if" or questioned authenticity of the story at some point in the thread. The other uses the words "its just paper talk" and seem to suggest they are simply bored of the subject. I'm sure 90% of our fans are.

We're simply discussing the "what if" scenario, nobody has slagged off Ba. Indeed I doubt many would even if were true, there is no such thing as loyalty in football afterall, players come and go.

 

Don't think so, since I feel the chances of the board making that happen is pretty high, no point getting myself worked up since I'm like half-expecting it already.

Still, hoping the board can prove my wrong.No confidence whatsoever though......Our board seem notorious playing hardball with clubs over players and sometimes, you really have to pay that extra bit to get quality, can't always look for bargains.

The reason many of us come up on here(at least personally me), is to discuss with fellow NUFC supporters and talk over the happenings and news about the club we adore. There are no rights or wrongs, they're opinions after all. Some of the stuff we talk about, like this, are based on dubious articles, but still, we discuss them as they're a part of us and the club we love. Doesn't mean that it's false we'll ignore it, since it concerns Ba, so am still glad to be on here and see the different reactions to the various articles up on here.

 

I'm pretty confident he'll stay. He'd have gone in the summer if this was just a straight forward £7.5m transfer. I read an article from the Independent yesterday that had the figure at 12.5m due to agents fees. Add that to the fact that not many clubs are willing to pay £80k+ a week for a player whose knee cant be insured and it looks pretty good for us.

 

For me I think this is agent talk trying to line his own pocket on the back of Demba. The actual money for a transfer far outweighs the £7.5 million, on top is his wages for the supposedly 4 year contract plus insurance, which for Demba will be high considering he has a knee that can go at anytime, Then you have the agents fee which are reportedly £5 million !!!!!!. All in all a lot of cash and I feel few would take it up and risk him. Surely they would have taken him in the summer break.
