    Evening lads and lasses!

Thought I would get the ball rolling early with this interesting match preview from our friends at the BBC :) This is the first time I have read anything in the press, suggesting that his job is under threat.....

Steve Bruce got his Sunderland reign off to a winning start with a league victory at Bolton; a similar outcome here would go a long way to ensuring the beleaguered Black Cats boss is allowed to continue in the job.

"The resilience we had three months ago is certainly lacking. There are issues we have to address. But we've got to bite the bullet and fight the flak which will be flying our way"
    Sunderland boss Steve Bruce

A run of four points from the last 33 available has heaped pressure on the increasingly unpopular Bruce, who has seen his side go from batting eyelashes at Europe to flirting with relegation in the space of just three months.

Bruce will point to a crippling injury list that deprived his side of a single fit striker against Fulham last weekend, but it is in defence that Sunderland have consistently come unstuck, shipping 28 goals in their last 11 games.

Bolton's season, too, is in danger of petering out and manager Owen Coyle will be desperate to see his side return to winning ways following back-to-back defeats on the road to Fulham and Blackburn. Their record at the Reebok is excellent, however, with five wins on the bounce, including a 2-1 win over Arsenal a fortnight ago.

    MATCH FACTS

    Head-to-head

    • Sunderland are looking to complete a league double over Bolton for the second consecutive season, having already beaten Wanderers 1-0 in December's reverse fixture.

    • Bolton have failed to score against Sunderland in their last three meetings.

    Let's hope that continues tomorrow!

syd where's your optimism mate? I thought 1-1 but have got a feeling we might just nick it as SB will be forced to play the youngsters and also rans. We might even see Riveros getting a game you never know, we've got nothing at all to lose so why not?

Nowt drab about that at all. Massive, massive bonus as I see it. Cannot see us scoring another goal after last week, so a point will do for me.

Normally positive, its all drained away from me.

Spot on John. SB has to try the younguns tomorrow, especially if we go 1 down early on. There's no point in him waiting until the last 15 minutes to throw one of our young strikers on. Start the buggers and lets see if they can nick an early goal putting Bolton on the back foot.

Id snap ya hand off for a drab 0-0. Unfortunately I see this going near identical to Brum away. A positive enough performance when a win isn't expected, but we'll concede a shocking goal late in the first half, we have no chance of scoring 2 at the moment so the second half will be tight untill the inevitable 2nd goal goes in around the hour mark and the game is over. Sorry to be so negative but I just can't see anything other than a defeat tomorrow. There's always Wolves at home though right? :-/

We have won five in a row at the Reebok, with the latest being a 2-1 win over third-placed Arsenal. I feel we will beat you, considering you won't have anywhere near a full strength squad, and we are on form, and always have been, at home.

Hope it'll be a good game whatever the outcome.

If I'm reading that team news correctly ...

Inevitably Mensah will pick up an injury meaning Elmo will end up back in defence covering. What that means in terms of formations and 'tactical' substitutions from Bruce is anyone's guess!! :emoticon-0138-think

Carson to play as a striker because of his height?
Noble in Goal because of his youthful flexability?
Muntari to provide the oranges at half time, if he can be bothered?
