Top thread as per usual Christopher <applause>

My Ma's a West Ham fan <doh> Need a win or I'll be getting bombarded with grief....COYR

It'll be a good atmosphere and a tough game. We need to be able to soak up the pressure today (possible as we've got our best defence available and Lucas back) and hit them on the break. Personally I'd like BR to have pace on both wings, Assaidi and Sterling possibly or if not then play Enricky ahead of Johnson on the left because I can see him linking well with Shelvey if he's playing in the middle. We'll miss Suarez no doubt about that so I'll happily take a scrappy one nil.

Probably shouldnt say this as football isnt played on paper , but, we should BATTER these, looked at the side they played v Chelski last week and they played 5 defenders with no left footed one. With Nolan off Cole, with ONeil(Diame) Noble and Jarvis in midfield. What I will say is even I cant f**kin stand Sam, he has done an amazin job in makin the some of the parts better than the individuals. But I think we should be more confident than we are, we have far superior players, we shoudl be a LOT more confident than we are.BR should be giving the lads confidence not worrying about Suarez being out

A team lined up like that beat Chelsea...

But I actually agree with you.

Here is the view from a West Ham fan. (Link here)

Gus Sharkey from www.westhamonline.net provides the view from the opposition ahead of Sunday's game.

How are you feeling about our visit?

Quietly confident, we didn't play well at Spurs the other week or during the first half against Chelsea, but the 2nd half we bullied them and deserved the 3-1 victory. If we come out and play at a high tempo Liverpool might struggle to control the game.

How are the fans finding life under Sam Allardyce?

Despite what you may have read in the press, we're loving the way that Sam has turned the club around and our suspicions of playing hoofball have been proved unfounded. We're mixing it up and playing some good stuff with pretty much the same side we came up with.

Who makes you tick?

Kevin Nolan for me, he's not the best player in the side or the driving force, but he's so influential on those around him and links things up well. And he's partial to scoring the odd goal or two, he's the best captain we've had in years.

Who do you rate on our side?

Luis Suarez is a class apart.

Song we can expect to hear?

Apart from the non-stop singing of Bubbles, I reckon '2-0 to the Cockney boys' might get an airing.

Best and worst thing about being a West Ham fan?

Best thing is the rollercoaster ride we have every season and the supporters. And there is nothing bad about supporting West Ham. Even the bad bits, it's character building.

Anywhere our fans can get some grub and a drink?

There's no end of chicken shops to choose from and The Central on the Barking Road is away supporters friendly.

Prediction?

2-0.

To be fair I thought Downing had an okay game midweek, does he deserve a place though? Not a chance. It's weird how Downing is getting in ahead of Assaidi, Suso and even Pacheco, he must be doing something right.

Going to easily lose 2-3 v 0 according to one of the commentators on the game.

I don't see that happening but who knows.

How we have ended up without a recognised stiker is shocking for a club like us really.

I think losing Suarez could be a nice little kick-on for the other players tbh. We can't just rely on him so the onus is on them to grab goals and really push on into the box. Luckily, we're playing West Ham (no disrespect) rather than a City or United. I'm backing Shelvey to grab 2 goals and Sterling to add a third. 3-1, comfortable team win.

The players need to show some bottle today it is true.

I liked Shelvey with Suso and Cole against Young boys - they played some great stuf and we looked like scoring more than normal.

I can see us winning. We need to make sure we don't concede early - I think they may come out and attack us which might work for us on the counter.

If they sit deep I can't see us breaking them down.

They need to show some fight and determination. So often away from home we struggle when the going gets tough and the home crowd start getting behind their team and we crumble under the pressure & concede stupid goals.
