I see this game being decided on the Fellaini vs Sandro battle. Both are always a fraction away from a bad tackle who both jump with arms flailing. As the away team , I can see Sandro getting the red card, which would ironically be convenient for Parker to make his comeback next week.

I would actually prefer a recognised winger instead of Bale- either Falque or Townsend- it didn't work with Dempsey on Thursday.

I would be amazed if Dempsey doesn't start though B&W. You say it didn't work but Dempsey scored (sort of) and he has been improving each game he plays. You know Everton will work bloody hard so Dempsey may turn out to be a good option with his work ethic. He's also good in the air which will be good offensively and defensively especially with the threat of Fellaini.

If Vert plays LB, which we all expect , then he needs serious cover which I don't feel we will get from Clint.

The goal was from a set piece , not from some great play from him on the left.

Sandro will be covering Fellaini, not Dempsey.

What I said is the line up i would prefer not the one I expect.

I wouldn't go with 2 upfront from the start against Everton. I know Dembele didn't start on Thursday but I think we saw enough to know that good 5 man midfield will run us over if we play like that.

I'd go with: Lloris; Walker, Gallas, Caulker, Vetonghen; Sandro, Dembele; Lennon, Dempsey, Sig; Defoe. Falque and should give us options to change things if needed.

It's a fair shout but it would be a very bold move on AVBs part. I meant just having Dempsey's presence there not that he would be allocated to mark Fellaini specifically.
I personally think a front 6 of Lennon, Dembele, Sandro, Dempsey, Adebayor and Defoe looks good. When Dembele came on Thursday night we looked a lot better, without sounding too harsh on Carroll.

I wouldn't be unhappy with that team either YV. I still think we would do alright with Adebayor and Defoe though as long as Adebayor dropped deeper to help. We looked good away at Arsenal playing with them both until the sending off.

It will be interesting to see if we can raise our game for this one. Spurs best performances have been against the better teams so I am looking forward to a good match.

Should be a good game though. Two good sides who play good football, I'm looking forward to it.

Interesting line up today. Ade and Defoe upfront. Dempsey on the left.

It will be an exciting match. I pray we aren't too open though.

Lloris; Walker, Gallas, Caulker, Vertonghen; Lennon, Sandro, Dembele, Dempsey; Adebayor, Defoe
Friedel, Naughton, Huddlestone, Townsend, Livermore, Falque, Sigurdsson

At this rate, Grant Hall might be getting into matchday squads!

i never thought ill say this, but the sooner benny returns the better, allowing verts at centre back and gallas on the bench.
