Well... a great win! I'm currently on the train back to London on the way back from the game and what a day I had. A win, a great atmosphere and the 3 points in the bag.

Our away fans are great generally but to take 2800 up to Sunderland is a cracking effort. Some great chanting in the concourse before the game and going mental. Beer flying all over the place and all bouncing up and down. Got to our seats and we chanted pretty much all the way through the game. A shout out to all the fans that made the trip. It really made for a top day.

On the pitch we did really well. Torres played exceptionally today. His first goal was a good finish. It was great to see him have the confidence to go and get the ball and insist on taking that penalty today and then scoring! And how close to a hattrick when he hit the bar! But never mind as Mata slotted the rebound. We created chances left, right and centre and Sunderland really struggled to cope with us. Good to see Lamps come back and he got a cracking reception from us fans.

I know it's only a second win on the trot but we do seem to be playing better. Maybe Rafa's tactics are working after he has had time to assess the squad!? One thing is for sure... he has started to get Torres' confidence back which can only be a good thing.

Sunderland away... a really top away day.

Well done Buck and the other 2799 Chelsea legends who made the long trip up there despite the negativity surrounding our club. QPR only managed 275 the week before for a new manager they wanted

Bucks--I envy you ! Up to the the turn of the Millenium I used to do things like you , but now I'm retired and a grandfather the best I can do is about half our home games a season! I never missed a single game in London from 1959 to 1973 (when I got married)

Hey Bucks, thanks for your really well crafted reports. Like BM2 I am also now a grandfather with a 3 year old granddaughter and life has changed forever, and for the better.
I came to London from Sydney in 1968 and have been a Chelsea fan since then, even though my grand father played for "The Arsenal" when they were still in Woolwich !!!!. I returned to OZ , to Melbourne in 2008.
I miss London, England and Chelsea, and am happy to tell you your "live reports" bring back all the memories and feelings of going to the games.
Great to see some young blokes like you are full of passion and are getting the same fantastic feelings from following our great club, as I did, so long ago.
Look forward to your next report. With thanks. CP.

I know what are the odds?! There were 2800 of us there all along the upper tier and they focused on the section that me and my mate were in! I was still on the train home when loads of my mates were sending texts saying 'cheeky appearance on MOTD' and 'casual shot of you on football first'... Caps off an awesome day ;)

No worries mate... there are quite a few of the younger generation doing the away games as well as some older folks making for a good mix. All very passionate and away days are a lot of fun. My next away game is Leeds in the cup so don't expect my report to be of Chelsea and Leeds fans exchanging friendship scarfs!
