I know he was a golfer, not a footballer, but he was a great sportsman who will be sadly missed. R.I.P Seve
One of the few truly great, charismic gentlemen of any sport. He's been a hero of mine for many years. Never heard him whinge (unlike Montgomerie) even when his illness was diagnosed.
you're painting a very clear picture of yourself of late mate, a mild drinker who once had had Seve as a hero...........hmmmmmm bet you've got a very nice pair of carpet slippers and............ a pipe.... not quite what I was expecting Seriously, whilst I'm not a golf fan (and my hero was Monty) it is always sad when a high profile person passes who seems to be able to hang onto his dignity through fame and then ill health passes away.
Without Seve, I wouldn't have the slightest interest in golf. As a young lad, he was an inspirational character and his cheeky daring style endeared him to the world of sport not just golf. Along with Gary Rowell and Ian Botham, he was a hero of mine growing up in the 70's. Had the pleasure to follow him round in a minor tournament I attended many years ago and he was magnetic in his appeal. He played some shots that defied physics and cracked on with the crowd like a club golfer. In a modern game that has very few real personalities these days, Seve will be remembered as one of the true greats and a legend of the game. RIP Seve Ballesteros
off topic I know Cest and I admit I was never into all that god ****e..............but something I've been meaning to ask for a while.............. chesterlee st and gods paradise..........no wonder there are so many of us atheists around...........
1973 - God actually created the world in 5 days not as some would believe 6 as he spent a whole day on the sleepy, idyllic hamlet of Chester le Street (loosely translated means '****ing paradise on earth') and has welcomed heathens such as yourself for years to help them redeem themselves? On the 7th day, he simply relaxed with a beer in the paradise he created the previous day.
I don't get much of a chance to use my carpet slippers. I'm up the pub most nights, and the reason I drink mild is that I don't go out with the express idea of getting pissed. That's what kids do and I grew out of that a long time ago, and all of the 18 year old beer experts will do the same if they live long enough.
