Key Performance Indicators Companies use them to base job performance of measurable aspects of said job. So lets say your attitude can not be a KPI but something like the number of things you do in a day or hour could be. In this case they are probably things like number of passes, key passes, passing percentage, shots, shots on goal etc.
KPI's can be both good and bad if you have never worked in a place that uses them. It is good because it can remove favoritism from a managers assessment of your performance. A good employee would be one that completes his/her KPI's or exceeds those KPI's. It can be bad because it removes things that are intangible from your evaluation. Meaning maybe you do not perform to par on your KPI's yet you add additional un-measurable aspects to your performance that benefits the company in other ways. A properly run company uses a combination of KPI's and as well as trying to fairly critique an employee on the other aspects that are harder to measure.
Like the saying goes "When you cant do the job yourself, become a consultant and **** it up for someone else."
Sports science is a vital tool in professional coaching and management. It is a better tool when you come to sell the player. Look at it this way, if you have a car to sell and you can prove that it only cost 17p per mile to run because you have all the fuel bills etc,
