Coming up for that time of the year. It has been a great year for British sport.

For me Nicloa Adams would get the nod. Not a lover of boxing but the girl was the first ever Wwomen Olympic Gold medal winner, and that smile just makes you melt.
    Others on list are.
    Ben Ainslie (sailing)
    Jessica Ennis (athletics)
    Mo Farah (athletics)
    Katherine Grainger (rowing)
    Sir Chris Hoy (cycling)
    Rory McIlroy (golf)
    Andy Murray (tennis)
    Ellie Simmonds (swiming)
    Sarah Storey (cycling)
    David Weir (athletics)
Bradley Wiggins (cycling) who I think will be bookies favourite.

Would agree that Nicola's achievement is something not likely to be repeated in a hurry, so she would get my vote also Lady E.
Most likely be Wiggins or Mo Farah though.
On a side note, Nicola Adams is also a very talented footballer and Arsenal Ladies FC have been trying to sign her up for a while, but it seems that her first love is the boxing, nice to be so talented.

Farah for me as he is everything the award is about. Great character and you can see how much it means to him. Personally I loved Ainslie's attitude in the Olympics, that interview he gave when they tried to gang up on him will live long in the memory

"They've made a big mistake," said three-time Olympic champion Ainslie.
"They've made me angry and you don't want to make me angry."

Got to be Bradley Wiggins for me, been a fan of his for a few years now, really down to earth hard working lad.
If anyone gets the opportunity to watch the documentary sky have made, I think it was called, 'A year in Yellow' watch it.

    Let's just be grateful it isn't a pampered footballer,..........<laugh>

2nd this it is great documentary. I like him and what he has achieved is staggering (totally under recognised by this fecking country) but I don't think he is a great personality as such. I like a bit of a character for this award. Nice chap though, I suppose being unassuming is a nice personality trait to have. And it has been more about achievement in recent years and Wiggins is difficult to top in that regard

If the awards had been closer to the time of the Commonwealth games, I'm sure Wiggins would have featured highly among them. However cycling is more low profile than other sports and he may be overlooked because of that.

If there is a top 5, the top 5 will be, in no particular order:-

    Mo Farah
    Jess Ennis
    Ellie Symonds
    Bradley Wiggins
    Andy Murray

Out of those I expect Wiggins or Ennis to win!

Seb Coe (not on the list but I'd pick him) for me.

I think the whole Olympic Team should be awarded it.

I'd love Ennis to get it, but Wiggins for me is the winner this year!! Can't say I'd be unhappy if either got it!!
