Lucky you guys this is my last article as i'll be busy with studies from now on so won't be spamming this site for some time at least! In any case i wrote this couple of days back as to why i believe wenger is the right man for the job. http://www.soccerfanbase.com/blog/6...igh-and-low-points-of-wengers-arsenal-career/
Good article. Although I agree with the sentiment I do feel that Wenger is starting to loose his touch. Still a top manager but not as astute or progressive as he once was.
Wenger isn't faultless, but he's still the best man for the job at Arsenal. If the board stay true to their assurances that we'll have more money to spend on the squad, then I think it's only fair that Wenger is given the chance to show what he can do with a proper 'war chest'
I agree. Although I have been sceptical about some of Wenger's recent signings, I put most of the disappointing ones down to financial restraints causing him to gamble on players instead of buying his first choice players. If money was no problem, I think we may have seen Benzema, M'Vila and perhaps Hazard come in. Hopefully we'll have some exciting news on the transfer front and we'll have a more inspiring squad and one that won't let us and Wenger down.
The problem is that they are all in it and there are smokescreens being thrown up by one side saying there is money for transfers and the other that there isnt any. Then add to that the sales of some of our best players and buying in at a far lower cost without saying who or why decided they should go and it becomes even murkier. The fact is they are all complicit in the way thte club is being run and we are not seeing the profits invested. And come to think of it isnt Wenger the highest paid manager in the country or world or something like that.
Totally agree, most arsenal fans for some reason fail to understand that even if it was a different manager in charge, the amount of money we have spent would still have been the same.
This is it in a nutshell really. Wenger has done about as good as he could have expected to have given the resources at his disposal over the last seven years. I've always maintained that if we'd sacked him when people were first calling for it, we'd already be out of the champions league
