I think Walcott is pretty decent in front of goal as well - he is underrated in that aspect of his game. Would Sturridge and Walcott be my first targets? Probably not - I think there are players with better value available. But would I be disappointed if they joined? No. I think they would improve our front line and inject us with more pace, directness and willingness to get into the box.
In terms of wages i'd certainly agree on that value. i think at 12mil you really can't make much of a loss on sturridge.... shocked the spuds and AVB have not moved in on this... they are crying out for a forward now that avb has come i nand dropped adebayor.
My neighbours uncles taxi mans sister said we are on the verge of a straight swap, Joe Cole for Neymar! #sources
Is there an actual list of players we have been linked to in this thread? I think it will past the 200 mark by now.
I'm scared that if I let it out of the bag, that we are bidding for Falcao and Hulk, some yank will ask me out to a gay bar in Manchester and threaten to give me a season ticket if I don't give him my sauce.
hulk already moved... the real transfers are neymar and falcao but our back up is to move onto David villa.
hmmm... one injury crock for another (messi and cole) one left sided magician for another (iniesta for downing) i suppose it culd work but hows it going to ahem solve our prolems given messi has a bad attitude and won't play wide so brendan can keep suarez i nthe middle... i mean we may as well take sturrudge in that case .......
FSG would TURN DOWN the Cole n Downing swap deal for Messi and Iniesta, down to there WAGES and the fact they are over 23, .............................and the fact they are f**kin clueless
ok, so iniesta is an old man... lets be fair to FSG.... but messi might squeeze in. FSG don't turn anyone down.. its all ian ayre's fault right we need to have at least one more scape goat before calling time on FSG.. no but seriously.... lets see what really happens before jumping to the clueless accusation. They're close to it mind, they need to deliver news on the anfield thing and in january in my mind but lets see.
well buying one worked real well for rafa didn't it? I mean he totally kept his job after buying an expensive injured player.... then Kenny and comolli bought and expensive injured player..... see a trend? Hodgson and purslow brought in an expensive waged but free injured player.... If rodgers buys an injured player like some linked to us or a known injury risk... well... It seems the commonality is when a managerial group asks for a player they seem to arrive, without any common sense from owners who never second guess their team... just sack them (G&H and FSG did the same things, FSG twice now) You have to wonder if chelsea's model while a bit too crazy at least when RA decides on a player using all his cronies he can't blame anyone but himself. their issue is if a player is gash he still insists on him playing or he'll sack the manager..... no i think we shold forget messi cos he's injured, forget villa cos he's not playing after his injury so god knows.... lets just not buy walcott and go for someone who's never been injured long term... maybe a 10 year old or something.
http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/media-watch/talksport-bilbao-will-not-sell-llorente it seems to me that Llorente is set on staying this year at bilbao so i am of the opinion that he knows already where he is going and its in spain. In january he's allowed to talk outside of spain and agree a deal but not in spain. I think he's lined up his free move to real as he doesn't fit the barca model. Bilbao obviously dropped him but i think they know he won't go so there's no point saying they'll sell now as it'd annoy fans. its llorente who's annoyed them and i'm sure thier manager and owner want to keep it that way.
I believe he will go to Juve, they are crying out for him and that quality of forward. Vucinic, Matri, Quagliarella are good but I don't think of the standard of Llorente.
I'm convinced italian clubs are bankrupt and juve are all talk. it might be tax free but i am thinking he'll stay in spain.
I had a thought. Think about the players who have moved from Liverpool to Chelsea. Torres, Meireles, Benayoun. These plays did well at Liverpool. They never do as well at Chelsea, if their careers get going at all. So what if the opposite works to. How about if a player moves from Chelsea, who has not had the best time there, moves to Liverpool. They become awesome. Forget Joe Cole. I am on to some thing...
