I've calculated that a weekly wage bill of 3.5k gives a monthly deficit of around 7k. Therefore to break even, you need to cut your wage bill by 7/4 per week. Therefore you need to cut it by 1.75, giving a total wage bill of, er 1.75k. For 11 players this requires an average wage of £159 plus bearing in mind you'll need at least five, preferably more subs (let's say a squad size of 18), not to mention an assistant coach, goalkeeping coach, fitness coach and physio. So that means an average wage of basically £80. I know you can get cheap players, indeed I had a few on about £35, but with coaches and the need for maybe some better paid players that's insane. No wonder non-league clubs are going out of business so often. That, ladies and gentlemen, to quote Hornblower (the series, not the person) is the mathematics of defeat. Oh well, I like a challenge. You could play as another team perhaps.
why don't you stop buying good players from now on, and only buy 18 year olds, and see if you can keep winning with a team of full academy players!

Playing a season at Madejski while St. Mary's is expanded. The really impressive thing is that I've sold 2000+ more season tickets than the stadium has seats. Finished third and made CL in my second season. Damn our quality management, they've ruined FM for me.

You seem to have the same problem as me - can score ****loads but also concede quite a lot! I tend to beat teams 5-2 rather than 3-0 for example.
Same, and I have no idea why. In my second season, I finished on 42 goals conceded; in the third, I've conceded 42 through 29 games. Which is odd, because I haven't changed the tactic at all, nor made any changes to my defense save for swapping Adam Federici for Rene Adler.
