I read that JT's conked out in training and will not be travelling to Japan! I'd rather have our captain back fully fit and ready for PL action than risk him in a competition I dont really see the point of! However its nice to know Lamps is back and wearing the captains armband. We sure have missed not having a proper captain!
Yes however it is time we at least try to live without JT. I don't advocate dropping him, but we have to realise he doesn't take care of himself properly and he will never play every game fit ever again. We all lauded his bravery and commitment in the past playing through injury, in hindsight we should of husbanded his talent a lot better and did a Mr T and knocked him out when getting on to a plane errrrrrrr I mean forced him to take doctor's orders ( Mr JT). JT is not smart. The world and his wife knows it. He is unable to make valued judgements and the clear proof is how he has managed his past injuries.
JT is also closer to the end of his career than the beginning. We have to plan for life without him, especially in light of Coco telling the world Lamps won't be with us next year. Neither will Coco hopefully, so what the **** it has to do with that muppet God only knows. JT is also running foul of the "Piss off you're 30 " rule Nero the Roman has apparently brought in. So get used to no Lamps, no JT and no Ashley Cole, sooner rather than later. Isn't CFC an object lesson in how NOT to manage a Football Club ??????
CP --This over 30's business is something I'm sure we will end up regretting in time! People age in different ways and any assessments of contracts should be tailor made to the individual! I actually watched Stanley Matthews at the Bridge when he was 51 and he was still doing the business!
Funny,I seem to recall it being pretty clear he would br gone well before Benitez took over. In fact you were part of a discussing about it on here back in September.
