It is quite clear Joe that my first response touched a raw nerve with you and you felt guilty and a bit silly hence your rather confused response. I have made my point and if you disagree so be it but learn to recognise when you have lost an argument. It will save you a lot of wasted time and energy.

Wow, you're actually sinking so low as to use the GMI technique of claiming you've won the argument? Well then I'm going to treat you as I would GMI and not dignify this crap with a response. If my argument appears "confused" to you, it's because you are confused. It makes perfect sense to me, and the people who agree with me.

Just watched it and I agree. I've not read the book but anything which encapsulates positivity the way Nigel does can't be bad, so I might give it a go sometime.

By the way, do you think Nigel subconsciously tries to look like a vicar for press conferences to reinforce the positive image? Just a thought...

Yeah, and it's not like he's just recycling stuff he's read in bullshit self-help books, he actually seems genuinely well-read, which is rare for a football manager.

Wonder if Barton is well read or just picks random **** from a book to say.

I think he's probably more intelligent than most footballers, but I suspect he's also very pretentious. Also, I'm just reading through his Twitter now, and his reaction to a silly Daily Mail article that suggests he could be gay is this:

Yeah, his sexuality is no one's business, and if he was gay it'd be fine......but better just mention the fact he has a missus. Just to clear that up. :emoticon-0112-wonde

Joe you are wrong. Get used to it.

If you really meant "Well then I'm going to treat you as I would GMI and not dignify this crap with a response." why did you go on to make a response?

You really must sharpen up those debating skills or you will look a bit silly in the courtroom.

I meant I wasn't going to continue arguing about the matter at hand.

    That is pitiful.

    Why are you still arguing?

You'll never be right but you are, as always, very annoying.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence Chilco, but I take your point. The one thing about the man that has held me back slightly is that if I compare him to Cortese in terms of competence for the job, then he has a pretty high bar to aim at. If we are talking about success, as a functioning, solvent football club with ambition, then Cortese [and the Liebherr money he brings] is easily the best thing to have happened to SFC in living memory, IMO. But with every week in the [Barclays] Premier League, Nigel shows how much he is learning. It can't have escaped anyone's notice that Nigel has now become one of the managers that the pundits are looking at favourably. The presenters are beginning to love him, because he oozes good vibes. Of course, we are infected with the Adkins disease, unless we have an immunity against feeling good about Southampton FC and the future of the club. The message is getting through.

England well on their way to victory. India 155-7. Kohli has been caught behind off Finn.
