It seems this is not a one off, this pair have a bit of previous.

In 2009, they got a 14 year old girl to tell her mum, live on air, that she'd been raped when she was 12.

And he contacted a young female journalist who'd given one of his shows a bad review and suggested the 'fat **** shut her mouth, or he'd hunt her down'.

    Charming.

Well I think he's a ****. And if he wants to hunt me down I'll send him my address.

from what i've read all she did was transfer the call to the ward. you'd think the queen would have a security code.

it's still an extreme reaction and an overreaction. given the choice of
    a) losing a job
and b) losing a job and being dead
most of us would pick a).

You'd have thought Special Branch would be involved as well, especially if it was the safety of the heir to throne.

Early reports were that it was the receptionist who had committed suicide, but it's actually the nurse on the ward.

If I was that dj, I'd avoid driving through tunnels at speed for a while. :bandit:

Had hoped all the unfunny DJ's had either died or been arrested like Jimmy Saville and DLT, seems the job still attracts total ****ers!

Doesn't anyone think that calls to the hospital should have been 'fielded' by an official, if the business is that freaking important? Otherwise, it's not important at all - and some arse-covering 'manager' wouldn't need to put pressure on a harmless, helpless, nurse.

There is something very, very wrong in the state of Denmark, my dear Hamlet...that we have to put up with this imbecility.

Poor lass, topping herself. But I, for one, don't blame the idiot djs!

isn't it true that it was a nurse that took the call and the receptionist wasnt around to take the call.
i would assume the nurse wouldn't be up to speed on telephone protocol - however far fetched it is that the queen would herself take make the call.

    Totally agree.

Hope the 'jokers' here endure tormented sleepless nights for the rest of their days, haunted by their complicity in someone's death.

A pox on all the moronic ****s who lap up this type of 'it's just a laugh' humour.

Most people thought it was sewer humour: ringing hospitals (where sick people are, right?) and obtaining info by deception from people acting in good faith.

    WTF is funny about that?!?

The fact this woman has felt the need to take her life is tragic.

Did she speak to the DJs on the phone? I'll admit to not knowing all the details.

You can't put someone in a position like that and just PRESUME they'll take it on the chin and laugh as well. Everyone's different.

I know for a fact I can take the piss out of some people, and they'll laugh, some would be genuinely hurt, and some would probably punch me. Therefore it requires judgement. You shouldn't pick on randoms in such a heavy handed way because anything could happen.

This wasn't anybody either, it was the Royals, a real high profile humiliation it seems of someone trying to do their job in good faith.

It's obviously devastated her to the point of suicide, for the sake of a prank.

    I think it's awful.

    of course it's awful.

i'm not a fan of such so-called jokes and something has clearly gone badly wrong. it would make anyone suspect some fragility and it would make anyone question whether anyone noticed she was upset.

Just saw this news RIP to the nurse what a waste. Not a fan of the Royals at all and normally couldn't care less if somebody took the piss out of them but these DJs sound like a right pair of tools, hope they get some karma back for causing this chain of events.

Couldn't agree more with your comments, this is the tragedy of playing pranks on people you don't know the character of the people they are involving, as you say what can be seen as a joke to one person can be quite the opposite to another. By the sound of it, these people that perpetrated this stupid prank, will probably have no remorse at all.
