I don't like the way hurlers are going down clutching themselves Corrib. Its seeped into Ga Football over the last few years and now its endemic.

I can't believe its creeping into this game too!

Popular game, given the packed terraces. Is this normal behavior in hurling? Why didn't the blokes in red just take the psychopath out en masse?

Apologies, I know nothing about this sport and can only go by the evidence of my eyes in the clip posted. My questions were genuine by the way - is this kind of 'off the ball' violence the norm, and why wasn't there a brawl?

Maybe you're a bit angry over the Cricket jibe earlier?

Basing the popularity of the Sport on one clip is beneath you Stan. But given the nature of your brilliant posts elsewhere, you're allowed the odd slip!
That clip is of a Club game rather than a County game and when its a final they play them in the large Stadiums as a reward. It would be like Hayes getting to some local non-league final and being allowed play it at Loftus Road or summat.

Na, those off the ball hits are rare as are brawls. The reason there wasn't a brawl as far as I can see is because he barely touched them! The players are taking to the Soccer-type simulation these days which is regrettable.

P.S. What did you think of your poster-boy Freddie Flintoff in the ring the other night? Fair play to him I say. But he should leave it at that!

Trust me to raise your hackles on one of the few occasions I don't bother to look something up before I comment on it!
Is it a decent spectator sport? I know it's very different to hockey, but my daughter is getting heavily into that at county level at the moment, and I just don't get it.
Couldn't care less about Flintoff. He had a couple of glimpses of genius for England, was a disastrous captain and was injured and out of condition most of the time. If boxing has helped him get fit good for him, but I doubt he has the self control to last long in that game.

I'm trying to keep you on your toes mate!

It probably comes in behind Gaelic and Soccer but in front of Rugby in terms of attendances/popularity in Ireland (That's just a guess, I don't have any figures). There are pockets around the middle and south where its like a religion and nothing else is played. Rather like Cricket in England I would assume?

Hockey? I'd say that would be a good game to play / watch. Its good you have the girl involved in Sport. Can't go wrong no matter what Sport it is when it comes to young 'uns as far as I'm concerned.

I used to watch Hurling on Wormwood scrubs when I was younger (I used to go over there on a sunday to play football). Even watching the amateurs play used to scare the life out of me, I never understood the rules but it looked exciting

It's all in the wrist-action. Used to play golf with a couple of Irish guys and the way they hit the ball was eye-popping, they said they played Hurling first and just used the golf club the same way, the power through the ball was amazing...

Hard to give as good as you get to the Aussie footballers. Physically in a different league. Savage stuff.
