10 points is a Scottish record , beating our other three best efforts, meanwhile old Rangers have the four worst attempts by Scottish sides .
There were reports linking him with Celtic (dunno if they started in Italy or here) but Lennon has rubbished them already. But, it got me thinking. Is he the type of player we really need? Some might say we need a 6ft plus Suttonclone but Miku and Nouioui are both fairly tall and have enough class and touch about them to suit the quick passing, ball into feet stuff we sometimes aspire to play. So, January targets? My target is simply to hang on to who we have - previous windows saw me clamouring for a Centre Half but we have Ambrose now and he seems to have brought out the best in Wilson - Rogne is already there as cover so it isn't urgent anymore unless we're looking to have loads of competition. If we get through the transfer window without losing anyone decent (and we're unlikely to what with the last 16 beckoning), I'll be happy. An overpaid 30-something like Iaquinta would be a backwards step IMHO
agree - hold on to what we have (especially hooper and big vic) and add a couple of unknown young ones that gary has identified dont break from the model we have just now - its working
As you say, qualifying for the next round gives the likes of Wanyama and Hooper another reason to hang around. Next summer might be a different story mind you. As for bringing anyone in, if Miku ****s off back to Spain then maybe bring in another forward. Although I thought Stokes was due back in the new year, so that might nullify that.
Stokes said months ago that he would be back in December - if this has been pushed back now, fair enough.
Concentrate on pre contracts and young players at smaller clubs. There is a player called Andy Little and he seems to be scoring a few in Div 3. Maybe buy him and loan him out? See what he is made of...
i had really high hopes for miku safe to say he has yet to set the heather alight and don't really see him starting that now given the weather in scotland in winter. i would there fore punt him back in January as there is no way we will be buying him next summer. i could see stokes going as well. if that is the case i hope we bring in a new striker. personally i would keep stokes as his spl record is outstanding. no idea who they could bring in tho
This From what I've seen of that wee guy, he gets booted aff the park most weeks and gets back up and runs back at them for more.
Aye, pace is really lacking with wee Runs Like A Lassie Forrest out. We could go a pacy winger, but maybe someone from the youth setup
I take it y'all have heard the rumours that Miku is not going to hang about? There is definitely a player in there but seeing that he is not "our" player you wonder about the worth in investing more time, money and energy into getting him to do what we want him to. If he goes or stays he will be fondly remembered for a marvellous shift against Barca. He can tell his grandchildren that he played for one of the best 16 sides in Europe. Paul George is back after a horrific injury. I hope he can be as good as some folk are saying he was going to be.
we need a creative midfielder badly, I reckon Lenny can tempt Reus into leaving Dortmund to play in the SPL and drop 50k a week. hes bringing back the thunder
Harry I believe Rangers hold the British record for the least number of points attained in the Champions League with a small two points. Is Neil Lennon the youngest Manager of an EPL or SPL to qualify for last 16. Neil Lennon is I think eight years younger than Ally was when he was given the manager's position after serving many, many years as an apprentice to old dignity Walter. Mind you the apprenticeship did not serve him well for he has exited every cup competition at the first or second opportunity. He also saw his Rangers relegated to the fourth tier, but he is optimistic that in the league at least he won't be relegated as far again.
