If you are a businessman then there is no way you would spend £30 million on a player because he has had a great 15 or so games, they would monitor his form over the whole season, you will find that they may risk around the £10 million mark today but that would only be the rich big clubs and there is no way we should entertain that under any circumstances. We are in the driving seat on this and it is a bit of a gamble. For instance he may not be as good in the second half of the season and his value will drop or he may be better and his value will rise to the £30 million mark, He may get a bad injury like bodde and never be the same player again...Life is about risks and today's value is about £10 million with the possibility if his form continues to the end of the season then the sky is the limit and who knows what other clubs are willing to pay.....So the question the club is asking itself is do we sell him for around the £10 million mark and make a huge profit or do we gamble and keep him in the hope he can continue what he is doing till the end of the season where his value will rocket......My own view is to take the gamble and not sell and hope for the best....
I'll stop you there too! its the premier league we are talking about here, buisness logic just doesnt happen there...
Canaries fan in peace. My, how things change in a day. I'm sure I read that Michu wasn't for sale at any price yesterday and now ML is saying he can go for £30M. He's certainly worht lot more than you paid for him - but £30M. Looking forward to the game tomorrow and would love the same result as last season, but being realistic; I'd take a share of the spoils when the final whistle blows. Good Luck anyway and let's hope we're both in the PL again next season.
In all fairness he hasn't said he can go for 30 million, he said that he's not for sale and that only one of the big clubs could afford what we'd want for him anyway. The 30 million figure came about because he compared him with Joe Allen and said that if Liverpool were willing to pay 15 million for Allen, then Michu would have to be worth double that bacause he's a goal scorer
No, he's not saying he can go. He was just passing comment that, in relation to what some other players have gone for, then Michu is worth £30 million. By that yardstick, I wouldn't disagree with him but I guess Laudrup's resolve will be tested perhaps in January and certainly in the summer. I suppose it will come down to where we finish in the table. The higher up we finish, the more likely it is that Michu will stay. Three points against your lot will help but it won't be easy.
