    I think you're right, but not entirely. I don't think Suarez gets the attention from refs cos of the biting, handling, racial comments etc, but purely as a result of his track record. Bale is the worst diver in the PL right now, but I think he'll adapt his game and in a couple of months time he won't be diving around as much. Same as Ashley Young last year - couple of exaggerated dives, lots of media pressure and now he has largely stopped and goes down no more or less than any other player. But people were talking about Suarez diving last year, and he's still doing it this year. The longer that image is reinforced for, the harder it will be for him to shake it off.

    I think the comments of LFC's managers haven't helped as well. When Young was diving SAF publicly rebuked him, and AVB has defended Bale whilst accepting that it is often hard for refs to tell if he's diving or not. But first Dalglish and now Rodgers have both criticised refs for not protecting him. Rodgers' comments for me would have done some damage, saying "what does he need to do to get a penalty" is like implying that he's going to keep exaggerating contact until one of the refs buy it. Not the image you want to put in the mind of the refs when they're seeing him go down in yet another game.

    Perhaps, but we've deserved more than the one paltry penalty we've received so far this season.

    Probably. But until your club stops acting like you have some god given right to receive those penalties ("What do we have to do to get a penalty?" "We'll have to talk to the refs to make sure they listen to our views") you're unlikely to win that many.
