You mean at what Ramires told him had been said and Mikel hadn't heard at all? Either way it hardly justifies storming into the ref's room and threatening him, then effectively getting him a longer suspension than Mikel himself was handed.

I think the suspension is justified, no complaints about it due to the claims being wrong but I still don't blame Mikel for having a pop at what he thought was racial abuse regardless of how he found out.

Were you as sympathetic to Evra? Of course not because when it's Chelsea it's OK as Chav Justice rules!

I agree, the guy burst in to the ref's dressing room and threatened him, at any other level that is punished with a much longer ban, I have seen under 15s get a 12 match ban for making threatening comments to a referee on the pitch, I'm not surprised that Prospect, the refs union, are not happy about this decision.

Interesting that Mikel has just signed a new long term deal straight after all of this, maybe Lampard and Cole should try threatening one of the officials to see if they can get the long term deals they want too. :p

The timing of the announcement of Mikel's new contract is no coincidence.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions like that as you didn't know I even existed around that time. Ignorant ****wit.

You saying that and then defending ****enberg makes you one almighty hypocrite son.

What argument? You defended the indefensible and then started hurling some insults around. Standard Drogs.

Yep, standard Drogs. You start out with good intentions but inevitably end up chucking the insults around. It's the Chav way.

whereas you start off by chucking wum insults round and then getting offended by hearing the truth, the plastic wanc way <ok> maybe if you replied to the debate in hand rather than act like a petulant idiot i wouldn't use these insults, regardless of how freely they are used.

Guess that's where we disagree. Mikel is, in my opinion, no better than Cantona kicking the fan who racially abused him. The difference comes in the penalties imposed, although that's arguably more about Mikel being black than about the actions of his club in playing up the racist aspect.

Maybe not, but then being told that you had been racially abused by someone a fair bit of time after it had actually happened is not the same as having the abuse screamed in your ear from a few feet away.

And even though the kick is worse I don't think it's worse enough to justify an eight month ban versus a three game ban. When you consider Suarez gets an eight game ban for calling someone a negro, after allegedly believing he was called a Sudamericano, it's hard to see how Mikel can get away with a three game ban for forcing his way into the ref's dressing room and threatening to break his legs, no matter the imagined provocation. Particularly given how much harder the FA usually clamp down on abuse of referees versus abuse of players.

would he be that upset if Chelsea win? 100% NO ..
when you are upset .. you want to believe anything bad even with no grounds just to have a go on the ref ..
I agree with swarbs .. he should had been banned for more

Still waiting for the FA's actions on Chelski fans , but just wait a minute after the derby today, there is a new focus Man utd fans, dressed as city fans , throw coins and other objects at United players !!!!!! This will mean the Chelski incident may now be swept under the carpet. Watch this space !!!!!!
