    Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that he is looking to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window.

    The Magpies had to settle for second spot in Europa League Group D on Thursday night as they lost 2-0 to Bordeaux in France.

    "I am just hoping that, fingers crossed, when we come out of the other side of the window, we have got a stronger squad," said Pardew.

    "I will probably look at loaning a few of those who played tonight, hopefully after January when I have got a stronger position in the squad."

    Newcastle return to Premier League action on Monday when they travel to Fulham.

    Certainly seems to be upping his pleas to Mike. I seem to remember him and Hughton doing this previously though.

    Both ended up feeling like I did the Xmas I didn't get my replacement Millennium Falcon after an incident with one of my brothers destroyed the first one. Not that I'm still bitter about it.

    If the players we are after are available, I think we will spend. Signing Cisse proved that last season.

    We ALWAYS spout up a ton of bullshit and eventually end up with sub-par no. of recruits. If we hope for 4 signings, we're probably going to end up with just 2.

    So we'll only sign 2 players AT MOST. Even then, I'm being mightily hoepful

    we'll sign maybe one player, then pardew will say "we're after 3 players", then a week or so later we'll be "after one or two", then towards the end of the window it'll be "maybe one", then we'll sign no-one and Cabaye and Saylor will "be like new signings"

    Being the businessman that he is, you'd think that MA would have worked out by now that a successful team is going to bring more money in for him. The gates can't get much bigger but there'd be full houses every week and just think of all the extra tops he'd sell.
