Hello there, does anyone here like the NFL? If so, come on down to the American football forum, on not606 for some gridiron based fun. See you there!
I prefer watching NFL to football tbh (no remarks about which team I watch being the reason please ) but I prefer talking about football to NFL, which sounds a bit daft. I might visit from time to time
UK Egg chasing is bad enough but at least they don't wear full on body armour like the Americans. American sports can stay where they belong- in the USA!
The NFL is beyond stupid. Giant fat men bumping into each other who get to use oxygen tanks on the sideline after every other play because they are so out of shape that they would collapse with out it.
In Columbus the OSU team attracts 105,000 to watch college football. The match is only part of an occasion, starting with tail-gating......barbecue and beer, followed by the marching band.....excellent entertainment, then the match.....which goes on forever and finally a good steak....the highlight of the day. Everyone in Ohio wears the OSU colours on the match day and the coverage on tv is wall to wall before, during and after the match. I would not swap the occasion for a home match at the KC.
Biggest ****ing pile of ****e in the world. Rugby is bad enough, but at least has some semi-decent qualities. But as for American Football... What on earth there is to like about a bunch of heavily-padded fat men smashing into each other and then having a ten minute break is beyond me. There isn't even any skill required to play the game, apart from the ability to throw a ball in a straight line, which is something few men struggle with. Fans of the sport are just as bad.
Even though I live about 20 minutes from where the Tampa Bay Bucs play, I support the Miami Dolphins just as much. But I actually prefer college football to the NFL.
Awesome sport, so far the only criticisms i've read are complete bollocks, the vast majority of NFL players are in far better physical condition than footballers are. The college system means all players have to have an education in order to stand a real chance of getting into the NFL. And as far as skill and quality goes, spend 5 minutes on YouTube, in fact search for Danny Amendola the catch and watch that, he's a fairly average receiver yet check out what he managed. As far as entertainment goes search for Jerome Simpson TD flip.
I will admit that before i truly started watching it i thought it was an easy game, but having seen some of the tackles, seen many a young talent be stretchered off with concussion i can say rugby looks quite tame.
